Where to go to view the ultimate walking coyote sniping rifle?

I am possibly in the position to build a coyote rifle for sniping from a tripod, walking in no farther that 1 or 2 miles, round trip from the truck. I am wanting an adjustable butt plate, possible adjustable cheek riser, beavertail forearm, light, 26 inch barrel, in a 6mm type cartridge. And a 4-14 type adjustable objective, with a bipod. All of this, w/o weighing 15 lbs.
Is there a location for a person to view such a critter?? If i am going to spend my hard earned $$, i don't want the end result to be 'Oh $hit!' After all of that $$. I want to get at least close to what I am wanting so I can see the approximate balance and feel of the end result.
I have been to 2 NRA shows, and nothing even came close. And i don't know how many millions of $$ of guns that I viewed on those occasions. Not Bass Pro, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, etc.. They all might as well be on another planet to suit my coyote sniping needs.
Am I asking for the impossible? Thx.

For a factory made rifle that you can coonfinger before you purchase? Probably.

They are called "custom" rifles for a reason.

You will be spending some coin to build that rifle. Maybe a fully adjustable manners carbon stock, TI action and carbon barrel? That may get done what you are looking for

Yep.

Just pick out the parts you like and get somebody to put them together.
Or do it yourself.
Have you picked a bullet yet?

You have been doing a lot of reading and not much doing.

You don't NEED any of those things to kill coyotes. Don't get caught up in the hype. Off the shelf stuff will get you out to 400yds. Much farther than 99% of most coyotes are taken.

Think,,,,, don't just do.

A high dollar camera with some lessons on photo shop for kill shots.
Not sure if lasers are immune to the wind either.

Yep! Im just that tight.

Seriously, there are some members here, and on snipers hide, and on 6br, that have seemly endless amounts of $$ at their disposal, and having a 3-5 thousand dollar custom rigs, built seemly every year, is just what they like and can afford to do.
You may be right. Maybe I don't need a custom rig. I might just have a talent/training issues to overcome. After having several seasons using the newer technique of changing from a belly-flopper shooter to a sitting/sniping, my continuing misses between 3-400 yards has be perplexed. I see the all of the custom models with the adjustable butt plates and cheek risers leads me to believe that i am missing something.
My endeavor here is a once in a lifetime gig, and all of the P.M. members that have gone down this same road is a extreme value to members like myself, and their unselfishness of their experiences can save members like myself a lot of coin that is not seemingly endless.
I have a shot rifles with the jewel triggers , and they do seem like they are a difference maker. I have cycled super smooth custom actions, and they too seem like a difference maker. My Tikka action is smooth enough for me, at the moment. I have never owned any custom anything rifle, and it's a bit of stepping off of a ledge for me.

I have a action that I want to go with, so Im guessing another 2 grand for trigger, stock, and smithing. Not sure if that is feasible [beeep], having no experience so far. Looks like they are pushing the 2 grand mark [beeep].

Sounds like many hours of shooting 3-400yds. from those positions and off shooting sticks to me.
I'm comfortable shooting 300yds. sitting and shooting from my old pair of shooting stix I've had for years. Both of my Predator rifles weight 6lbs. 4oz fully ready to hunt.
Also, my 2-7 power scope rarely comes off 3x.
I don't know if I would be comfortable out to 400yds., but I will never have to worry about shooting that far around here.

A friend of a friend has one in 300 win mag. I haven't seen it in person yet [beeep]. In my experience, Browning's C.S. is as bad as it gets. I have several friends that have browning rifles that are good to go. They Shoot well and are accurate. But they have no support for older rifle models, and that has pushed me into selling mine off. But like all factory models, you don't get to choose twist rate or barrel length. Not a lot of aftermarket support. ( It seems like Tikka's are getting better in that department. )

Look into Christensen Arms, they make a pretty nice rifle from what I hear. Eventually I will have a Ridgeline in 30-06 that will be my do all rifle but not for awhile. It's stiff, lightweight, and semi custom. You should be able to finger fondle them at your local Cabela's.

That being said, my off the shelf 22-250 Cabela's special Savage shoots just as well as I can up to 450 yards. I think experience is what you should be focused on. I shoot extremely well from a bench, prone, any time while I'm shooting for groups, but you get a game animal in my crosshairs and I rush the shot. That's why I am getting into predator hunting, to take more animals and relax while watching them.

I know my problem and a big custom stick has the potential to remove the firearm from the equation, but if you still have things to work on as a hunter and shooter, no rifle will ensure you the kill, just accuracy potential... Shoot more, practice even more, have friends watch while you hunt and while your practice, you may learn your faults.

Tikka's are known to be a great rifle, you may gain .25-.5 MOA by spending 3k... Up to you..

Im not 100% sold on the carbon barrel. Most of the coyotes in my neck of the woods are flying at Mach II after the first shot. Not always, but I think I will be happy with a pencil type barrel contour to reduce weight. I would like to have the rig be under 12 pounds, w/bipod, loaded, field ready.
The manners stocks look really. good. I am considering traveling to Manners, ( Im about 5 hour train ride away), and looking at some of their rigs they have put together, in house. I visited their booth at the NRA show, and it was like looking at women's lingerie, w/o Kate Upton wearing it. I just couldn't get the full effect.
Im wondering if any of the coyote contest attendees use any custom rigs. It would be a lot further and more expense for me than a one day train ride.

One thing I have recently learned is just how bad a stock can be designed. I think the designers of T3x stock should stand up and take a bow. My 270 win jumps after the shot like a diving board, after Michael Moore, jumps off of it, into a buffet. It's crazy. My old BAR 270 win Safari II w/BOSS was like shooting 22 long rifle. I could see the hit or miss after the shot. I even have a muzzle break on the T3x, and it's still crazy.
There again, I would like to actually shoot a rifle with an adjustable cheek riser and butt plate. Getting into a custom rig seems like ordering a car that you have never driven, and hoping for the best.

For what you are talking about, the adjustable butt plate is not necessary. You can work around the cheek piece with a TacOps stock pack and some sheets of thin foam. I highly recommend Manners stocks, they are the only thing that I use on all of my builds. No, I don't build a new one each year, but once you shoot a custom rig, you wont want to go back to factory. I usually buy my builds piece by piece, then drive over to Mr. Beanland's shop and have a chat. You can do the same on a budget by having a competent smith true a Remington 700 action, chamber a #2, 3 or #4 taper bbl in your desired caliber and bed it to a Manners Elite hunter stock and go to town. Order the stock, b/c it will take 4 to 6 mos. usually, then keep an eye on Academy/Walmart etc. for their sales on ADL model rifles, tear them down to scavenge the action and sell off the other parts on 24hr Campfire. If you reload, you then need to decide on a caliber, if not, I would recommend either 22-250 or 243 or even 6.5/6cm. After that, get out and shoot. I try to practice off of shooting sticks at 4-500yds whenever I can, that way 300 off sticks is not a big deal. Knowing what you can consistently hit at XXX yds will build confidence in you and your rig. Best of luck. This might not be everyone's recipe, but its a decent place to start.

A factory rifle will do just fine out to 400yds. I have a pair of Remington SPS Varmints in .223 that do just fine out to 500yds. I havent tried past 500 yet.
Remington makes the same rifle in .243 Winchester. Throw the stock away, sell the trigger, drop in a Timney Elite trigger, drop the barreled action in a Nice rigid after market stock or chassis. Some of these stock you can find at good prices used.
Buy Seekins base and rings or Talley one piece ring/base.
Your choice of optics. For the money its hard to beat the Nightforce SHV line of scopes.
There you go
One of your biggested adavantages would be to handload if you dont already.

If your desire for such a custom rifle is due to missing shots at 3 to 400 yards, I suggest you buy a decent rifle and learn to shoot it. I do not intend to offend, but any rifle that will shoot under a minute will kill coyotes that far and beyond. I shoot that far regularly and do it with several rifles, all of them factory out of the box items.

It reminds me of my time racing in the desert. Guys that had the money, but who never won, always thought the solution was better equipment. If they just had 900hp they would win, or if they just had 30" of travel, but in the end they would show up with their new super rigs and finish right where they did before or they did not finish.

They are clearancing model 7 preditors at grice guns in clearfield pa. 425.oo 223 ,22-250,243, I have two these guns are nice for the price. 20inch fluted barrel everything camouflaged light weight
