Which Choke for Slugs?

I've got a Remington 870 Super Mag, Turkey gun, with a 23" Rem-choke barrel. I'd like to try shooting some cheap slugs, at the range. Should I go with an Improved Cylinder (as Remington suggests), or a Modified, Light Modified (sporting clays) or rifled choke?

I'm not hunting with it yet, just trying to see what it's capable of.

Good article, thanks!

The more I look at chokes, the more confused I get. Now I feel like I need a better X-Full, to shoot copper plated nitro loads. I guess I should stay away from the low quality Remington chokes.

why not get a rifled choke tube??? alot of my friends shoot the same gun with rifled choke tubes and are still able to shoot the cheapy slugs through them as well as some sabots...

Good Article. One thing I disagree with is the smooth bore good to 50 yards. I had a smoothbore shot gun that could shoot 3" groups all day at 100yards if you could stand to pull the trigger on it. I will say my 870 super mag with its rifled barrel and scope will put that old smooth bore to shame though. I'm still ticked cause I missed a coyote last weekend at 100 yards with it. But hey it was my fault so I can't blame it on the gun. I slapped the trigger instead of sqeezing it.

a factory rifled rem choke works extremely well for me out of my supermag. I have an extended tube as well, both work very well.
