Guys I am wanting to get a chronograph and was needing some input on which one to get??? Thanks for any info!

One with the electronics that you won't shoot through if you're a bit low with a bullet.
Not that it will ever happen.
Much.

I just bought a Pro Chrono. $100. and it does all I need it to do. No wires to mess with, runs on a 9 volt battery. I bought a nice tri-pod a Wally World for $28. and I'm good to go! Lots better and more expensive, but this one works for me.

I also have the Chrony F1. I got it for $59 (I think) through Sportsman's Guide or Cheaper Than Dirt.
It has served me well and I don't have any complaints.

Ive got the same one that 5spd has and it has worked well for me, however Ive never used any of the higher end ones such as the Oehler. I have noticed that when I chronograph loads and then combine them with ballistics software that Im never spot on with their calculations out to 700 yards. It always gets me within a foot or so, but not spot on. Im not sure if that is the fault of the chrony giving slightly false readings or if the software Im using is just going to get me in the ballpark no matter what. I would like to try a high end chronograph and see.

Get a Chrony. They work great and the price is right. Remember, there are two classes of chrongraph owners, those that HAVE shot their units and those that WILL shoot their units!! Oh, maybe three classes, I forgot those that have friends that will shoot their units.

I have the Pact and really like it. It's not as high priced as some, but a little more expensive than others, plus a life time warranty. Like most things, you get what you pay for...

Thats because you have not lent it to a pal without being there to insure he sets it up right....

55 grain Sierra Game king HP. Note the excellent penetration and fragmentation. I think the round right before this last one registered around 3250 fps.

What kind of deal do they have for replacement if you shoot it?

Since you now know you need to hold a bit higher, you may want to save your rods and diffusers for the new outfit.

Go to the chrony site I linked above, replacements come with new rods & diffusers

I've had an Oehler 35p for about 15 years. It's been a great unit. If I hadn't won this one in an IPSC shoot, I probably would've bought a Chrony. They seem like a good piece of equipment for the price. I don't have any experience with the Pact chronograph, but their timers, and scales have always worked well for me, and their warrantee can't be beat.

I used to have a pro chrony that looked almost identical to yours. Only about 2900 fps though!
