Which fawn decoy should I buy?

Gonna give some of the local farms a try this weekend, one of the land owners called me tonight & said he's seen a good amount of fawns hanging around out in the open & have seen coyote shadowing some of the deer groups the last couple nights. So I'm gonna try to "match the hatch" & set up in the morning with the foxpro fawn in distress & give them something to look at to hopefully close the deal.(Dying to try out the new 22br too!) Seems Flambeau and Edge both make decent decoys...was wondering if you folks used either & your thoughts before I head to Dick's, Gander Mountain, Big R, BassPro, Cabelas, etc....

hey al,
i recently bought the edge foxxy fox decoy.

they are truly exceptional..i know you like to use fawn decoys alot though, especialy since you nailed that big coyote with one, i seen it on varmint al!

good luck at ya!

john007, I suppose you are talking about Renzo's silhouette decoys. They basically are a picture on cardboard, no depth. IMO, you are limiting yourself for one angle for the coyote to see the decoy. Not my choice.

This has my vote to. I bought one not to long ago, folds up nice for easy carry.

edge is very accurate with detail, the quiver critter on upt to the wily coyote, fawn, and the foxxy fox!

very under rated!

I've got this one:

Flambeau - Foam Fawn Whitetail Deer and Predator Decoy # SF00885

(I won it off the Predator Hunting Talkcast live blog, so it didn't cost me anything).

It's full-body, looks pretty realistic, and it's made out of neoprene or something similar, so you can fold it down into a fairly small package and it will pop back into shape.

I can get it into my ruck on top of my caller, so that's a nice bonus. I was happy getting that nice a gift after I inspected it.

I don't know if it's worth $35 or not, but it looks like it would last forever (as long as a critter didn't attack it, anyway).

I only use the fawn decoys in early fall when the fawns of the year are about that size. I like to use some deer scent with them as an attractant. Works for me.

If the work schedule allows...gonna hit bass pro tomorrow for the Edge decoy & give it a whirl this weekend.
