I've mounted many a scope.., usually in Dual Dovetail style ring/mount configurations. I've never...ever needed an alignment tool!! All you need to do is eyeball them straight, rest the scope in the rings and check for any uneveness along the sides..., and adjust the rings if nessesary, lap and your done!
Nothing fits a Scope better than properly lapped rings!!
No plastic sleeves for me!! I'll probably have quit shooting long before I get that lazy an un-precise!!
No one can convince me that metal to plastic is as solid a mount as metal to metal!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
Easier maybe...., but better?? No way!!!
