Which Speco speaker, 4 ohm or 8 ohm?

I'm in the process of building an e-caller. I have an mp3 player and the Velleman amp. Which Speco SPC-5P horn do I need, the 4 ohm or 8 ohm model? I'm a bit lost.

I don't know which one you "need," but the one I have that works real good with my FoxPro is an 8 ohm model.

You wouldn't hear a bit of difference between the two. Either one is fine.

with all due respect to the last post, this info is incorrect. That Velleman amp is rated at its highest wattage with a 2 or 4 ohm load. If it is a 10 watt amp for example at a 4 ohm load, it is only going to produce around 2 watts into an 8 ohm load. The difference in the two speakers is profound, as the 4 ohm will have far more gain, modulation and clarity than the 8 ohm. The impedance of a speaker has a direct eccect on the power output of the amplifier.
