WHITETAIL deer tail as a decoy????

mny feidn has already gotten a buck down here in kansas and i asked him if he was going to us the tail and told him if he wasnt if he coudl spare it for me. he said yes. well im going to be getting the tail pretty soon, but it isnt gonan be atanned or anything
what can i do to keep teh hair from falling out and to keep it in useable condition for a while to come. i dont want to buy anything unless i HAVE to. so if u have some home remeady i can try then i will. thanks all

Might want to try on the trapping and fur handling forum. Some taxidermy borax worked for my fox tail (so-far) for drying it when stiching it up.

Otherwise, start by getting it salted up real good.

Pray tell; How do you use 1 for decoy? Decoy of what? Never heard of this before, but sounds like it could work. Thanks, Al
 
hey well i was that i coudl tie it to a stick and set it out in the open maybe 30 yards away from me. i figured id also tie a string to it in some way so that i will be able to tug on it to make it move around. well im open to any ideas on other cheap decoy ideas you have cause just got okay from my dad to hunt em. also do u think that a slug comign out of a 12 guage will eb enoughf or one of em??
