Who rides a Yamaha Grizzly 700?

Was wondering if anyone else has this ATV and what are the +s and -s.

So if you have this quad and don't mind some typing let me know what do you think about it...

I have a '07 700yfi grizzly, & a '03 660 grizzly

+ the Power Assisted Steering is NICE

+ Like all grizzlies it has a really nice ride, better than any other machine I have ridden.

+ its a work horse, plenty of power lacks nothing IMO

+ It will climb a block wall with the diff lock engaged put chains on it and it will tear itself apart to get over what ever you want

-It doesn't start or run worth a [beeep] at elevation when it is cold (8000ft at home, camp at 10500 during hunting season)
Once it is warmed up no problem. ISO HEAT year round in the gas helps a lot but doesn't completely cure the problem when its -20 out. Dealer recommended a new Yamaha blend oil that is supposed to help with the cold starts.

I call BS it didn't help worth a [beeep]

-No way to start it when (not if) the battery dies, My 660 has a rip chord that I have had to use once when I left the key of overnight. This new 700 is a boat anchor with a dead battery. It's died twice

- The seat is small and a little uncomfortable when riding double. This is due mainly to them moving the tank back and down closer to the center of the machine. helped a little with stability compared to the older 600 and 660 models which contributes to the next negative.

-There is a heat transfer problem between the motor and the fuel tank. the heat coming off the motor will boil the gas right out of the tank. The 660 had this problem and heat tape was applied to the under side of the tank and was done as a recall (Problem solved). There is already heat tape on the 700 tank and it still gets to hot!

I truly believe that the 660 is a better machine less the PAS of the 700.

Thanks, man. I think I'm getting myself into one... elevation is not a problem in my neck of the woods but dead battery could spoil the party. Note to self: 'git a charger'...

Been riding a buddy's for the past week or so and noticed the tank getting kinda hot... As long as it's not turning into a 5 gallon Molotov cocktail, I figure it'll serve double duty as a hand warmer in the cold season...

Thaks again for the input... been looking at this bike for a couple of years now, but never muscled up the cojones to sign on the dotted line until now... here I go over the cliff ;-)
