Who has the best rabbit distress call available for electric callers.....Randy Anderson, Byron South or others????
Mark

Without a doubt it is called Jack Rabbit Buffet by Gerald Stewart and or Hunters Specialties. I have been testing this sound for several months and when it is available, it will produce better results than any other and I have more sounds than anybody I know. This sound is of a Jack Rabbit squalling, then pauses and kicks in with a second Jack Rabbit joining in. Just after the second rabbit joins in they come running. Only problem I have had with the sound is that the coyotes seem to come in wide open every time. I suggest you contact Gerald on this board who goes by GS to check on the availability of this sound. I do understand this is real rabbits.

Whoever shot the last double on coyotes responding to the call.

All kidding aside the best call in the worst hands will only call dumb dogs and make most harder to call if not impossible. The worst call in the best hands with a well executed set will result in more dead coyotes. Coyotes were killed with far inferior calls than we have today. Watch your wind, your way in, keep still and if coyotes can hear you they will come if they havent been educated.

I want to try mouth calling next year by inhaling through the back of my throat. It makes an awesome rabbit distress and like no others.

Byrons Rabbit CD's are awesome and FOXPRO's new Mark II sounds rock as well. And you can't go wrong with JS sounds as well.

Looking through our sponsors for this digital chip, along with looking in HS site, unable to locate this anywhere. I did see/hear it used in Pred4 DVD though.

Anyone know where to get it for the JS Preymaster??

I kept close track of a great season last year and shot 31 coyotes, 2 foxes, and 1 bobcat over a single sound, Byron's Cottontail. It may be new, but it sure works.

Maybe HC Wolfer or Sparky or CDog shot more on a single sound? Who else hunted a ton with an e-call last year?

I'm pretty sure he's referring to JS' "Vittles ala Jackrabbit" it's on one of the sound chips that comes standard w/ the JS caller (predator model).

There are alot of good sounds out there, but I've witnessed a bunch of coyotes die to "Vittles ala Jackrabbit" over the years, when hunting out West. In the last couple years, DSG Cottontail by Foxpro has done very well.

I see your are from Illinois. I'd stick to something that is high pitch and busy. I agree with Ceider, the actual calling sound is a small piece of the pie that one must bake for calling coyotes.

Jack Rabbit Buffet is a new sound that Gerald Stewart who is the son of Johnny Stewart is testing. Hunters Specialties bought all the Johnny Stewart calls. I am fortunate enough to live close to Gerald who lets me use some of these new calls and sounds to test. Like other people, I have found some calls simply don't work, some calls are just mediocre, and some are great. The Jack Rabbit Buffet is rarely the sound I start with and produces twice as many coyotes as all the others. I have called cats with the sound but it does not attract cats like it does coyotes. I also have Vittles Ala Jack Rabbit but Jack Rabbit Buffet is much better. There is something about the second rabbit joining in after a short pause that sends them in wide open. Since the Prey Master is a Johnny Stewart call hopefully Jack Rabbit Buffet will be available for it soon. I suggest that you contact Gerald. Gerald uses the Nickname of GS on this forum. I have his phone number but I am not sure he would like it given out to the public.

soreloser,

Good choice on the Lightning Jack. It has been one of our most requested sounds, and it is a Mark II sound, meaning that it is of the highest quality available, and also exhibits superb emotional content.
If you haven't listened to this sound before, you need to.
Also in our Mark II sound library are some cottontails and snow shoes, with more coming. Steve has been doing an awesome job with the new recordings.
On another note, try mixing the Lightning Jack with the Cottontail sound. WOW! Editing software lets you mix any sounds together that you want, giving you any unique combination you want. Or, if you would like us to mix them for you, just let us know.

That has nothing to do with it Coffee. He asked for an opinion, and that is mine.
Besides, is there anything wrong with supporting those who support you? Especially when they have a good product.

I agree with you 100% on supporting the sponsors!!! I've got products from all three of those and I love them!!!

I was just giving you a hard time,,,nothing else,,,,kinda sounded like a Nascar winners interview,,, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Any call that makes a predator respond the way we like is a good one. And we have a good one coming, the new PM-4 wireless Preymaster is going to be a good one. It will use the same 4 sound cards the original preymaster uses, just with a 100yd remote capability, it will do alot better than a 100 yds but we want to say it will work at that distance every time no matter what conditions. And we will have some new original sounds on new cards to work in the unit like jackrabbit buffet one of the coolest jack sounds you will ever hear, as well as some other awesome sounds from the Stewart Library (it is on op 4 being tested by the man himself Gerald Stewart and you can see what it does to the coyotes). The best thing about it is the sounds are original Johnny Stewart sounds that are the best or some of the best in the buisness these sounds are time tested, many for a few years before releasing to the public, with a remote capability never before offered from the Johnny Stewart line, and for a price around 200.00 $ It is a kick butt unit that I have been testing for 3-months the remote callers are really a bonus for filming and hunting coyotes and I cant wait for the next few months killing predators with this unit. Its on the way, save your penies an affordable killer wireless remote caller is on the way from one of the most trusted names in the industry Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls.

I like all the ones mentioned. Im partial to the DSG from foxpro as its done very well for me.

I caught the humor Coffee /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
