Why? Anybody can easily get a 270 WSM right off the shelf. Somebody who has ANY Ackley Improved chambering, tells me that he (or she) has more than your average knowledge in firearms and ballistics. It also tells me, that they don't always follow the crowd. And as it has already been stated before, you will have far more options with .284 (7mm) than in 270. Just my opinion, but I would go with the 280 AI.
