I coyote hunt because I love it PERIOD.
In todays world many feel the need to justify to others why they do what they do....regardless of what it is....The older I get I have less need or desire to justify to anyone why I do what I do.
I hear guys say all the time they hunt for the fur, or to save bamby, or a number of other reasons....well that may be but I'm betting that if they were honest with themselve they simply hunt coyotes because they enjoy it PERIOD.
I see it sometimes where the fur guys try and scold the just hunt for fun guys and I just laugh to my self. Bottom line is we ALL hunt coyotes for our own selfish reasons, whether it be for fur, fun, challenge, damage control or any number of other reasons. I suggest that if you enjoy hunting coyotes for any of these reasons don't worry so much about offending anyone or justifying the why to anyone but yourself
After thought....this is in no way ment to trivialize the fur trade or those that enjoy partaking in it. I actually think it is great that you do. The fur here is not that good and I don't hunt coyotes for fur no more than I hunt deer for meat. I simply do it because I love to hunt. I like deer meat and don't waste a bit but I'm not spending much time skinning a 4 dollar coyote. In fact I doubt I would spend much time skinning a 20 dollar coyote. With that said I spend plenty of my time hunting them every chance I get and feel no need to justify it or apologize for it.
Now lets go call some coyotes and have some fun.
