Why do you need 30 rounds in a mag? or 100?

Incorrect Roode we do have handguns we just cant hunt with them. Handguns and AR's are restricted weapons which we can own if you have a license but can only shoot at a licensed range

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Exactly WHICH part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" do you not understand?

Good luck guys you def have a battle coming

Our bill of rights only limitation is that our rights shall not infringe upon others. If I have the money to afford it and wish to shoot a Browning 1919 machine gun, then under legal ownership, that right shall not be infringed so long as it is done safely. Our first amendment allows for the freedom of speech. That is not limited to certain agendas, religions, or what a certain group says I should be allowed to say. Your ancestors chose your destiny and it is hard for you to take back that ground after all this time. My ancestors fought for these great freedoms I enjoy now, and I intend to do the same for myself and following generations. After all, the only blood shed by my AR has been varmints like groundhogs and coyotes. My hunting rifles may someday be required to defend my freedoms as did my ancestors Kentucky squirrel rifles. The same ones the King didn't want them to have.

Part of the problem is how people define "large capacity" By today's standards a 30 round magazine in an ar is standard capacity. Regardless, the government restricts too much about guns already. The regulation of sbrs, suppressors, and fully automatic weapons is a joke. We need to take them all back. Allowing the state to dictate who cab ccw or what weapon can be carried makes me want to vomit. The second amendment is your CCW!

Where did I miss the vote that elected Kale the singular voice for all Canadian gun owners?
I can assure you that all my buddies that hunt and shoot would and do want to be able to hunt with AR's, use 30round clips and hunt with handguns. We're just simple country farmers, fishermen, carpenters, truck drivers so maybe we didn't get counted in the Canadian gun owners poll?
It surely was a very liberal use of the word "we" and as your home country Kale you can throw a capital C in Canada from this point on.
Man you freaked me out last year when you didn't understand why Canadian gun owners wanted rid of the long gun registry, I'm a little puzzled what angle you keep going for.

Because all the good guys in Canada told us what a pain in the [beeep] gun bans are, and advised that we never let our government get away with what yours did.

There is no "angle". I like firearms just as much as the other guy. I like to hunt. Do I think AR15's and 30 round mags have a place in the hunting culture, not really. Would I use one if one day they allowed them to be used here for hunting? Probably not. We have strict laws on handguns and rifles such as the AR15 our gun crime is a drop in the ocean compared to America. Have our current gun laws here effected my life in a negative way? Nope. I have nothing to hide so obtaining and owning guns has never been an issue. Maybe there needs to be more strict gun laws in America. Try it. People are so scared of change. Oh and I do think ownin a firearm should be a privilege actually not a right.

And, I might add, while the anti-gun crowd will argue that the founding fathers had no idea that we would one day have assault rifles available to us, and that the second amendment is outdated because the AR didn't exist in 1776, they typically do so exercising their first amendment rights via a computer, iPad, or cell phone on the Internet... Which I'm sure the founding fathers envisioned someday happening when they wrote the first amendment.

How is it a pain in the [beeep]? I take a course, pass a test, they do a background check on me. When they see I am not a mental case or have a shady background I get a license.

I can go to the sporting good section pick a firearm. Show them my license, pay for it and walk out.

If I want a restricted gun I have go through the same thing only I have to show that I am a member of a club/range. I put in for a permit to transfer the firearm (the only slow step in the process) and then it is mine.

This has never once been an issue for me. So I don't see the problem.

So tell me Kale at what point in your life did the Canadian Government issue all of your strict laws on guns?

I don't think mass shootings of public places an innocent people were all that common back then. Times change. Remember that thing I mentioned about "change being scary"

If you guys think I am against gun ownership then you are wrong. I just think there needs to be a better system in place.

We should ban all automobiles that run faster than 70 mph, because it is a proven fact that the death rate in auto accidents increases as speed does.

We have section of the interstate in utah where the speed limit is 80

Yeah my nephew encountered it a few weeks back, truck only runs 78 so he couldn't quite get there. Texas likewise just recently opened a stretch up to 80 mph. However, they were all 55 not long ago, do we really need to go 80?
