Why do you need 30 rounds in a mag? or 100?

The bottom line is, do the retards in Washington really think the mass killings will come to an end even if they were to ban any and all guns? Nope! Its all about control.

I never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of anti gun folks.

Anyone doubt the slaughter a large, muscular, athletic man could create in a classroom of 6 yr olds with an aluminum baseball bat or crowbar?? How many unarmed people would want to go toe to toe with a large nutcase swinging a crowbar in order to stop the assault?

Not in any way less horrific than the shooting, actually probably more brutal. These are benign objects, let's ban them too!!! Don

Sharps I think you need to update your map, after all, the Broncos haven't lost a game in weeks,.....so,.....they don't suck too bad apparently. That map must've been drawn up when Tebow was still playing here.

There are several reasons. The first is...

In our country, we can't get along without the ability to own 30 round magazines because we have two factions trying to control the USA.

Group "1" is trying to keep the freedoms that made us the economical power that kept the world free in WW-1 and WW-2 and produced the freest country in the history of mankind. We spent a lot of our personal money (and children's lives) helping other countries become free.

Group "2" wants the government to control most of what we do, what we read, what we own, what we eat, what we drink, what size cup we can drink out of, how we live, what car we own, how we celebrate holidays, where we work, how much we money make, how much money we keep out of what we make, what doctors we see, how (and IF) we worship our own version of God, and a list that would go on for many many pages.
There are places in the USA where you absolutely cannot own a handgun, and where owning a rifle is almost impossible, no matter what the reason... and it all started with little "common sense" gun laws to save nice people from bad people... they were not fought, because who would be against gun laws that were to curb crime and protect the innocent?... and somehow, they got changed along the way, and they prevent the innocent from defending themselves in some of the most dangerous cities in the western hemisphere. These early laws were just the proverbial "Camel's nose".

Our financial/debt situation in the USA is soooo serious, that it is possible that our country is headed for a confrontation "in the streets"...
... with AR-15's and 30 round magazines, Group "1" has a chance - with out them, Group "2" will win the decision, and we will become a Greece or Spain..

Right now, our country is very close to sliding over to Group "2".

Your country doesn't have to face that choice - you made that decision long ago - you voted for Group "2", and every gun you own is a "privilege", not a right, and your people come to the USA for quality (and timely) health care.

I'm not knocking your choice, it's just not the way I want to live.

---

Another issue.

Canada has been very lucky - for most of your existence, you have been mostly a homogeneous culture - meaning the people in your town or city were pretty much like you (except for the French-Quebec and we all know about them
tt2.gif
)
I joke about the French-Quebec people, but remember it was not too long ago that the separatists in Quebec were very violent, and people died in the streets.
We are in the early stages of a similar social uprising by the "New left" that want to change the USA into a socialist country... there are a lot of folks that remember how it was, and don't want to follow Greece and Spain.

Unfortunately, in an effort to be "politically correct", we have let our immigration policies fall lax. The price we have paid is that we have a lot of criminal people in our country.
To add to this problem, we have an inner city problem that was very small in the 1950's but exploded in 1960's with President Johnson's "Great Society" programs, which guaranteed the people in the inner cities would remain there and fail.
After half a century, they are completely uneducated (the new form of slavery) they are angry, and are prone to riot. If they riot, they will try to burn my house and business down, just like the LA riots.

I don't intend to let them to that. Should there be a riot like there was in Los Angeles, after the Rodney King beatings, I plan to still be living in my house and working in my business. In order to keep what I have, I will need a rifle, a bunch of 30 round magazines and a lot of ammunition (preferably already loaded in my 30 round magazines). We saw it in LA - the shop keepers that had AR-15's and 30 round magazine, kept their businesses and homes - the "anti-gun peace lovers", lost everything and were left in debt, and bankrupt, because the insurance companies didn't pay off on the policies.
I'm not going to be on the losing side of this scenario, if it happened again.

If you add the the illegals, the criminal element, and the angry people trapped in the inner cities all together, it is getting close to the total population of Canada.

And all they want to do, is to take what the "other people" have. I am one of the "other people", and I don't want to give mine up.

The "other people" will need more than a 5 round magazine, if things go bad here.

Have we made mistakes, sure we have - but you are now making the same mistakes with immigration that we made 30 years ago.

Your Muslim immigrants are becoming the same economic and social burden on your country, as they have been in England - they have sucked the life's blood out of England's social services, and the Brits don't have the stones to admit that they made a mistake and say, "Sorry, it was a bad experiment - all of you ugly people can go back to where ever the helll you came from, we cannot afford to feed and house a culture of parasites!"

Your Muslims will not integrate into your culture - they will form sub-cultures (like they have in other countries, and here in the USA) and you will wind up supporting them, and that will not ever be enough... they will drain your already overburdened social services system, and that will not be enough - you will wind up with separate Sharia law courts - same as are pending here... you will start to have the culture wars that our society has been plagued with for the last 130 years...

... and in the future, you may need 30 round magazines... but you won't have them.

To answer your question, "We get along fine up here in Canada without AR-15's and 30 round mags so why can't you down in the USA?"...

You may "get along", but by my way of thinking, it is not "fine".

. My FREIND, You have given me goosebumps..I could not have said it any better, This thread should end now. Its over. i want you on Fox News with your statement. (cbs, abc, cnn would never allow it) God Bless you man!

I am sure many of you have heard of Michael Bane or even watched him host a number of different shows on Wednesday nights on the outdoor channel. Below is an pod cast from his radio show..... He does not talk about anything we dont already know he just presents it in a different package. Its a great listen if you have the time.

Wish he would be the spokesman for the NRA. I have never had a problem with Wayne Lapierre's speech content its just his delivery is a bit dull.

Canada knows that we are English, it is just Quebec who doesn't know what the [beeep] they are, but then we havn't really considered Quebec,Canadian for a long time.

It may have already been said, and if it has I'll say it again. The second amendment never was about hunting or even protection from urban crime. Its about protecting our country and freedom from a tyrannical government. If it comes to that, I want a magazine that can hold as many rounds as possible.

So I've heard (a time or two or three) Quebecer's can be a diff. breed! There's been a lot of bashin' from both sides of the border but IN MY OPINION, coming from a town with a bridge to Canada, and more Canadian license plates in town on the weekends than there are Michigan plates, we couldn't ask for a better neighbor to the north! I don't envy the issues that AZ or TX has with their neighbor. God Bless and Merry Christmas to all!

I don't "need" 30 rounds, but I really enjoy it when I go to the range and plink at my targets and don't have to reload every minute.

Couldn't say it any better....Jason

Try buying cocaine sometime, or meth, for recreational use. Try buying a radar jammer. There are countless examples of government telling us what we can own, what we can't own.

I always figured that the '94 ban was due to the upsurge in the so called "militia" movement. It scared the .gov. Now, however, with the up armored foot soldier and humm vees etc., I figured the .gov was no longer as concerned with small arms should then need to squash someone, or a group of someones, under their heel. It would seem that small arms have largely lost their relevance even in combat such as Afghanistan. Near as I can tell it is explosives, rockets, and mines that have the greatest impact.

I mean, really. They don't care about the average Joe Citizen, never have. They care about campaign contributions and prestige, and power. I figure ultimately all this noise about the AWB of 2012 will subside as soon as the greedy bastards figure out the angle on how to cheat us without inciting rebellion.

Gentlemen...This discussion has gone on for seven pages now...It has evolved from AR magazines in the AR topic thread to political discourse and it being moved to the Freedom Forum...If you want to continue this line of thought, it will be found there...

Well another bill was introduced. This one is strictly to limit mag size to 10 rounds. Looks like they are going to flood us with bills in hopes that one passes.

Maybe the libs themselves are afraid that feinstein will fail so they want to get something done. How do we go about combatting this one? Keep writing to senators?
