Wild Rice Processing

Hey guys... The wild rice harvest is on here in Minnesota and I've got a bunch of it that I need to process. I have not done it before and need to know how you know when it's "parched" enough. I also need to know a good way to thresh it.

Have any of you ever done this? Any help would be appreciated.
