Wildcat load data/ballistics

I frequently find myself wanting to learn the ballistic capabilities of wildcat cartridges.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a book or web source where I can find reliable load data and ballistics for a variety of wildcats?

Right now I am eyeballing the 6.5-06 AI and haven't a clue where to find out how quick it will push a 140 grainer.

nosler manuals list data for the 6.5/06, I shoot a 6.5 Gibbs, it normaly runs a 140, all other things equal, about 200 fps faster than a 6.5/06. I'm running a 140 at 3340 fps with a 29.5" barrel. If you go 6.5/06, AI it you'll gain another 100 FPS and won't ever have to trim.

I have P O Ackley's books and I can't recommend them for reloading for wildcats. Or for standard cartridges, either. There are many new powders on the market since those books were written and some of the powders that were made back then are different today. Not all but some. Powders that used to be made by Dupont are now made by Hodgden for example. I tried using old data from the Ackley book that I used years ago and it resulted in high pressure and a hard to open bolt in my 22-250. And this was not a maximum load.

When I got my 223 AI I found reloadersnest.com to be very helpful. At least it's a starting point. With the variations in wildcat chamberings it seems not many want to accept the liability of handing out info.

Ackley's books contain a world of good info, [beeep], and should be a part of every shooter's library. I look into mine with some frequency.
