What are the must have sounds for a new MA21 caller? I am going to order up a new wildlife caller and they only come preloaded with the 120 sounds but I want to add some sounds to it and I just want to make sure I have the right sounds for coyote hunting. I know the caller comes with a wide selection of sounds already but its nice to know what sounds have worked good for others.

Thanks
Bill

I think you get to pick your 120 sounds.
Prey sounds follwed by Coyotes Fighting Over Food, followed by Adult Coyote distress or Coyote Pup distress has been very productive for me.

I have one, and the remote is very simple and easy to use. We can't night hunt predators here, so the remote not being back lit is no big deal to me.
The sounds are top notch, and the volume is unbelievable.
If there is any one around you that has one you can listen to, that would probably be the best thing you could do.

WT sends you a list in the order the sounds are loaded into the caller. You just copy the list and cut it down to size and put tape it to the back of the remote in a water resistant cover.

I just flip it over to choose the other calls. Very simple. (That's a cut down sandwich bag the list is in)

How about ordering one for me too. You can get a group discount. Can't have too many.

Well I ended up ordering a new MA21 from Wildlife callers one of our sponsors and mark was great to work with. I ended up adding 10 extra sounds to the caller and I should have it tomorrow which will give me enough time to figure it out for this weekend to use.

Thanks again Mark

Wish I would have seen this thread earlier...the gray fox and bobcat fighting is a really good sound. The most productive prey distress I have used is the snowshoe hare. We dont even have them where I live but it never fails. You will like the caller, sound quality is second to none and the volume is first rate. They really dropped the ball on that retarded remote and that totally kills it. I will replace it with a Foxpro or Compucaller soon. No sound quality is worth having to blow a setup by turning on a light to use the remote in the dark...absolutey stupid!!!!!

When I bought mine you got 55.....each extra one was $10.00 ea. 120 sounds comes standard Now?? Figures....

I have a TX9 with my Scorpion. I prefer the WT remote that is with my 2030 MS. Both have been dependable and have plenty of range to suite me.

Might just be my old eyes, but trying to read the little TX9 screen in various light conditions as I scroll around is problematic. Seems like I end up spending a lot of time with my head down looking at the thing. Maybe I just don't know how to use it correctly.

I have 40 sounds on the WT. I made several lists of different sizes. I use clear packaging tape to laminate the lists. If you look at the picture below you can see I have not listed all sounds as it is easy to remember the next two rabbit sounds for example. I'm not sure how I am going to list 120 sounds. Multiple pages I guess.

The best part on the WT remote is the ten, programmable available favorites. Pick your best sounds and program them in the order you want. My first two are the locate sequence I like. The last three are my finish the stand sequence. The middle five are my favorite prey distress sounds. I also like the programmable auto shut down feature.

I had a TX500 with a Fury. Can't remember if it worked better for me than the TX9 or not. But I know it will do a ton of cool stuff.

I do believe that the Scorpion, Fury, etc are more carry friendly.

I have a laminated card of all the sounds on my MA-21 that clips to a small lanyard around my neck.

Learn to program a favourite sound like Coyote Pup Distress (as an example) and practice/simulate switching to it so you can quickly switch the sound after the shot is fired if need be if and when the time comes.

I made the same laminated card, that clips to the lanyard my remote. I have most of the sounds I use most memorized.
I have my 10 favs taped to the back of my remote, and the most used are memorized also.

When I bought my MA21, I just got the 55 sounds that I got to pick, and am very happy with them. Only wish I had got some Racoon sounds. I think daytime coon calling would be fun.

I will go with exactly those sounds. But first I need to get Garmin Astro Dog tracking set-up.
