Will coyotes swim to get to call?

I hunt down in southeast Texas where we have lots of rice fields. In these rice fields you will always have rice canals. Most of the time i CAN SET UP to where I can make a shot before the coyote would have to swim the canal but occasionnally due to wind or something I would need the coyote to cross the water. These canals are about 30-40 yards wide. Tell me what ya think. Thanks Gary

I've had it happen twice. Both times along a small slow running river. They look different after a swim, smaller and darker. I almost didn't shoot one because I thought it was a farm dog.
