Will my High Standard .22 shoot shorts?

My High Standard .22 hand gun has .22 cal stamped on the barrel instead of .22 lr like on my other .22's. I was wondering if it would shoot both .22 lr and .22 shorts? I was told that it would from a friend but he wasnt sure.

If it is chambered for 22LR it will fire shorts but, they probably will not have enough blowback pressure to extract, eject, recock and feed another round. If it is chambered for 22S it will work fine.

Only if you single feed them.

Ditto what Eddie said - plus they won't feed out of your magazine.

Additionally..... Beware of a powder build up inside the chamber. It could cause feeding problmes when you go back to LR's.

LOL!! I though High Standard made only semi-autos! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I've shot .22 Shorts from my revolvers amny, many times... Used to use them to plink squirrels out of my suburban back yard to keep them off my bird feeders without disturbing the neighbors. They work just fine! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

The High Standard Double 9, Posse, Natchez,Longhorn, and the Sentinel will all shoot Shorts, Longs and LR 22 ammo with no other problem but cleaning the revolver more often. If you do use a lot of shorts you will need to clean the revolver more often to keep the crud ring from forming in the cylinder. High Standard made some very nice plinking revolvers in the 60's and 70's. You didn't state which you own. but i an assuming it is the Double 9. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
