Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips

No I do not think that is a moly coating it is just anodizeing on the aluminum jackets. Moly coated bullets usually say moly coated. The Ballistic silvertips used to be called Black Talon, the Black Talon Pistol bullets were not PC so were discontinued the rilfe Black Talons had a name change to Ballistic Silvertip. Marketing and political corectness at work.

Don't think they are moly coated, but my experience is that out of several different rifles and calibers they are the most reliably accurate factory load that I have tried. I cannot handload my .300 Win Mag as accurate as 180 gr Win Ballistic Silvertips shoot out of it and terminal performance on deer sized game is outstanding. Everthing has Been DRT.

Winchester coats bullets with what they call Lubalox which is black like moly and is supposed to reduce fouling while giving increased velocity. Not sure if it does but we have had good success with them. The supreme power point & partition gold are moly coated. A real funny story is a game warden once asked me if they were illegal.

I agree that they are great bullets. The price is also great even for Reloaders. The thing I like is that you can always hear a hit and never have one run off.
