Winchester sx3

I'm looking into a new shotgun (semiauto) and I'm leaning towards the the Winchester® Super X3. Some feedback from owners of this gun would be greatly appreciated.

I have had very good luck with mine. I have the 3.5" and it cycles everything I have fed it with the exception of Win. universals which I had 1 FTE out of 200. I have shot as low as 1 oz loads thru it. I love mine.

No fear of taking the plunge on this shotgun....awesome firearm!
Bought a lightly used 3.5" gray shadow a couple years ago and it too digests every load I've used,, Fed TopGun is the lightest tried.
Have read of some guys having issue with the newer "black shadow" model and the cost savings "lack of permacote" finish and light rusting. But my feeling is if you take care of it after less than desirable weather conditions,, should have no problem.

My son had one that was either made early on Monday morning or late late Friday afternoon - total junk. I hear plenty of good things about them, but his was a lemon.

While the SX3 is a great shotgun, the Browning Silver(same gun) is better in current offerings.

The Browning has a blued barrel and anodized receiver, same internals.

The Winchester has gone away from the Dura-Touch and Perma-Cote and several people are reporting premature rusting on the barrel.

They both have shims for cast and drop and the only real difference is the round receiver on the SX3 versus the semi-hump on the Silver.

If you can find a version that has the Perma-Cote and Dura-Touch or Camo, then I say buy the SX3, avoid the Black Field and Black Shadow(ones with reported rusting issues)
