Wipe Out?

Put it on the inside of the barrel.

Sorry, I felt I had to say that. I generally foam the bore and leave it over night. Patch out the next day. I don't use the accelerator.
 
The foam works great . Just like it says on the back of the can, do the wipeout challenge and try it on a gun you think is clean....

I wouldn’t leave it in overnight. That stuff is known to rust the bore if left in for extended periods of time. I’ll run the wipeout through, then run the accelerator, then go back to the wipeout for a few more passes until the patches come back clean. Sometimes I’ll repeat with the accelerator. Then I’ll run some oil through and call it a wrap.

***** remember wipeout and accelerator state on the bottle that they shouldn’t be used with any other products, besides oil.
 
the bottle of wipe-out, patch-out i have says on the label that the product

"will remain active for as much as 24 hours with no harm to the barrel."

it also says

"contains powerful anti corrosives that make it unnecessary to put oil in the barrel."

i leave it in the barrel overnight all the time. never used oil after. never had a rust problem. just lucky maybe.
 
The accelerator causes the oxidation, not the wipeout.

I’d certainly use carb out as well, or you’ll leave a lot of carbon behind.

I use carb out, patch out the barrel, use wipeout then patch again.

Yep, overnight and no accelerator for me too.
And I push enough patches through it to get the fouling out before I spray the Wipe Out.
I leave the gun is a cleaning cradle with the muzzle slightly downward, and I stuff a clean patch in the chamber so the WO can't run back into the action/magazine area.

I was having that issue with my 455. I thought it was the Kroil at first, then found out it was the Accelerator. I googled it and found others with the same issue. I still use it, but I don’t let it sit in the barrel for any length of time. Good product nonetheless!
 
I have best results when I alternate it with some form of carbon cleaner, like has been mentioned. A dose of one, then the other a couple rotations. Surprised me the amount of 'blue' on the patches again after going back to some Wipe Out following MPro 7 after a good soaking and scrubbing of Wipe Out. Got some Slip 2000 that I will try on the next round of gun cleaning just to see how it does alternating with the Wipe Out.
 
I have used it for years and have never had a issue that some seem to have and I never let them get dirty enough that they have to soak over night... I do run a patch of kroll thru them and a couple dry patch's after cleaning them though.

Been using it for years and have tried many methods, me 3 buddy's. I did find the right combination but you need Sharp Shoot "R" Carb out also. Method: 3 wet patches carb out and let sit 10-20 minutes while your doing something else. Then, 2-3 dry patches. Next 2 dripping wet patches of accelerator followed by 2 wet patches of wipe out. two passes of a nylon brush through barrel and the let set 12-48 hours rotating the gun every 6-12 hours if you can or stand up straight on the muzzle on a paper towel. 3-4 dry patches and light oil patch and you've got a like new barrel.

If you don't want to fool with the accelerator, use Tactical wipe/patch out. It will just melt carbon. Spray on an AR bolt overnight if you don't believe me. You can wipe the carbon off with a paper towel.

Swifty that’s pretty extreme but do what works for you and don’t worry about me.

I have been running two wet patches of carb-out, waiting a few minutes then 3 strokes with a bronze brush, one wet then one dry patch.

Then I spray wipeout foam in and let it set until the copper streaks in my bore are gone plus a few extra minutes. Then, I patch out the bore and run a very lightly oiled patch.

All this take about an hour.

After every 250-500 rounds depending on caliber, I’ll clean with JB mixed with kroil or break free, then do the above.
 
Answers lots of questions. May have to try a new routine. Have always cleaned w/Hoppe's Benchrest to get rid of carbon, then dry patched before applying Wipeout. Let sit overnight many times as needed, dry patch then thin coat of FP10 or Breakfree.

Plan to test corrosion resistance of wipeout vs FP10 then make decision about what to leave in the bore after cleaning.

CZ, the method I explained is what I do after like you said, 250-350 rounds. For normal range session cleanings, 50-75 rounds, I use a lot shorter method like push thru wet, let set a few hours, and dry patch it. I've never had or used the foam, maybe I'll try it. I do know you can't get the bad stuff until you get rid of any carbon build up. Thanks for suggesting the foam.
