Wire Stretchers

What do you do with the legs and tail when you put the pelt on a wire stretcher. I read at I different site that you can tac the legs and tail to weasel boards to get a better shape have you ever heard of this RR, or any one else? What would you recommend?

I've never seen a wire stretcher that was worth it's weight that did not have gator teeth slides on the bottom of it to hook the legs to or the lower half of a trapper style skinned hide.

They slide up and down, one on each side. Slide it up, hook it to the hind end of the hide or the leg, and pull it down, The tension of the hide wanting to pull it back up cocks the assembly in a way that the tension holds it where you leave it.

RR, you've come to my rescue again and prevented me from buying some junk I don't need. Ok I'll scrap the weasel boards. I saw the little jaggy things, but like the big novice I am I had no clue what they were for /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif . All the thanks in the world /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ,

Here is a tip for ya. Wire stretchers for coyotes are JUNK and by rights they should be outlawed and their manufactures jailed!! If you want a REAL coyote stretcher get some quality wood ones or make your own. I will post a pic of one of mine later this week or the first part of next week.

Good hunting.
