Wireless Remotes for Decoys

Predator136,
I messed around with setting one up with some old RC servos and controller I had laying around. It worked great and the range was good until you couldn't see the decoy, but decided it would be a pain in the rear to drag the extra controller around and also the movement used to operate it didn't seem like a good idea.
Sure some of the more seasoned guys than me have some good positive info for ya.

I remoted a decoy off a nady 351. the reciever has an LED that lights when the transmitter is turned on. Take the signal from the led and fire a transistor that will in turn fire a latching relay. The whole board was about 1" square and cost about $3. Worked great but you were limited to just on and off with the transmitter. i.e. the decoy would always move when the sound was on. Either decoy alone or decoy and sound, no sound only option.

I also bought a cheap remote and reciever for a mojo-duck decoy from sportsman's guide. range is only 30 feet instead of the 150 feet advertised though.

Walking back to my truck the other night, the little car alarm key fob for my Xterra unlocked it from 87 paces (~90 yds).

I'm hesitant to tear apart my dash to find the receiver in my Nissan, but wonder if anybody has discovered which car alarm receivers are compact, lightweight and sensitive enough for decoy-triggering purposes (hopefully maybe one that'll function on ~10.8 VDC)?

I made a wireless bird decoy that operates up to 75 yrds. when you hit the remote he flaps his wings for about 15 sec. It can be clipped to a tree or placed on the ground base I made for it. I'll post some pictures & movie clip when I get some time. It was about $50.00 to make.
