Wolf Hunt Stopped...again.

Here we go again, same story different day. Given the rate of expansion and the actual number of wolves in existence today in the three state region (Mt.,Id.,Wy.);in just a few more years, hunting of deer and elk will be virtually over.

i know here in washington there taking over. there going to put 35 pair's here. the game department is buying up land for the wolve's. hunting here will be gone to in the next few year's. indian's are killing elk and deer at an alarming rate to. to much pressure on the herds. make's me sick. Rick
 
Where I live there are no wolves so you could say that 'I have no skin in the game' but it wouldn't bother me in the least to remove any wolves that I believe are threatening any wildlife or domestic animals that I like to eat.
Thats what we do. The 'WE' refers those of us that engage in such activites.
If you catch any of the whiners hugging these wolves, well now, thats a twofer.
 
I have to think that the whole 'Wolf' re-introduction thing goes directly to the environmental/socialist/democrat plans to eventually disarm the law abiding citizens. Maybe I'm paranoid but everywhere you look the democrats are chipping away at the 'outdoor' groups that hunt, want to go into the woods using vehicles (road closures) etc. The more of the outdoors people they can discourage the less people to support the 2nd Amendment. Hunters are a big part of the NRA which is vilified by the democrats at every opportunity . I think that the 2nd Amendment would be in real serious trouble without the NRA and hunters support. The socialists try to take the hunting heritage away from ever angle. Stop hunting by certain means(hounds) stop trapping, re-introduce the wolf and kill off the game thus eventually dwindle the hunter numbers. You never see any of the environmentalists pushing to re-introduce the free roaming bison on their natural ranges, but they sure have locked onto the wolf. Only the wolf threatens hunting where bison might actually increase hunting, and that would be bad for the socialists.
 
For some reason, everytime I even think about seeing a wolf out in the woods the POI on my rifle shifts to about 18" behind the shoulder...wierd

I don't know about the other states, but most, if not all, of the wolves in the UP of Michigan have had computer chips inserted into them. Yes, the MI DNR wastes money and tracks the wolves too. I've seen them more than one time keeping tabs on the wolves.

The antis put a halt to wolf hunting in Michigan a while back. Idiots.

Imo, you are absolutely correct. I have said for years, the wolf will replace you and I. That is the whole purpose. It goes much deeper than the wolf, the real issue is our freedom. We will not keep what we do not fight for.

That's sorta the same thing that I think about except I'm thinking more like 18" below the shoulders. I must be weird to.
 
ANYONE willing to make a gentlemen's bet that Molloy will shut this thing down again? The way it has gone we will all be hunting them from motorized wheel chairs 25 years from now - if ever. I am not surprised at this last minute manuever on the part of the wolf lovers. The judge may have to rule on the side of caution because times - a - wastin' and he wouldn't want to make a mistake - in spite of what the feds say about genetic diversity. I really hope I'm wrong on this, but, it looks like its in the crapper already.
 
Up here in north central Minnesota or cute little pack has grown to close to 3500 wolves. The MN DNR don't really know just how many are here. I guess it depends on what publication you read. My best guess is closer to 3800. My neighbor saw a female and her 5 young crossing a field about two weeks ago, so there are 5 new ones to count and tag. Our deer are fair game to them and there getting there share. A walk in the woods here and you stand a good chance of finding fresh wolf kills. Our 5 black n tans keep them away from the house, but they have been at the end of the drive way. We have one male here that's BIG and about all black. We see him on and off. This boy is big! I would like to see the city people find this guy in there yard some morning eating there little lap dog. The wolf issue will be a mess till some kid gets attacked or killed. The states need to get some nuts and tell the fed they will run there wildlife programs not the fed. City people need to worry about there parking spots and there Volvo and BMW's. Let the DNR take care of the wolf problem.

Minnesota wanted a 800-1000 wolf population, well its gotten past that and out of control. Now they breed with no control and nothing to keep numbers down. We need a few more of these programs that don't work.

" As it stands now, the three-state area has a population of nearly 1,600 wolves and 100 breeding pairs at the end of 2008, plus an estimated 500 to 700 new wolf pups this summer."

I always thought yuo guys had all the wolves, gee, I guess i'm lucky to have so many wonderful animals here!
