Anyone out there have any wood fox or coon stretchers they would like to sell. If not does anyone know of a good source to buy new ones. Prefereably one piece wood fox stretchers.

Sullivans sells the patterns for 2.95 each. The problem I had was I couldn`t find the right kind of wood here in west Texas. Thanks for the help guys I think I found someone to make some . If they are good I`ll let everyone know

I'll bet they sugested that the strechers be made of Basswood (Linden), almost any non coniforous (pine) wood will work, willow, cottonwood, alder, poplar or aspen will make nice strechers. You want to stay away from woods with pitch or resins in them. Putting you fur up on wood sure makes some nice looking collections. Don't strech them too tight or the fur will look thin and don't forget a spreader or they are realy tough to get off the strecher. I used solid wood strechers and slipped a 1/2" dowel with the end taperred down between the strecher and the belly all the way to the mouth, after the pelt dries pull it out and the the plelt will slide off the strecher fairly easy.

Good luck

Thanks for the help guys. I haven`t been on here in a while, trying to get my house finished. I got a dozen from Hunky boy. Price was really good and he was a pleasure to deal with. He is making fox and coon boards as well for about half what the big boys want. I would highly recomend him if anyone is needing some. I wanted the solid wood ones so it would be easier to patch holes. We will call about 100 to 150 fox a year. Its a lot easier to ue push pins than it is to sew them up. Use either a hornet or 17 and most of the holes are dime sized or less.

I think I have 10 used, adjustable fox stretchers. They are wood. I bought them incase I needed more out west on the road. But, the mange took out most of the fox, so I never had to use them. I would like to sell them if you are interested. I think I paid 6-10 $ for them I would sell them for 6+ shipping. T20

Sorry T but I bought all I need. I was wanting the solid wood ones so I could pin holes instead of sew them up. I do know someone who is wanting some I will tell him about them.
