Worlds Finest Trimmer review

I recently ordered the 5 in 1 trimmer from Little Crow Gunworks. Mine is actually modified for the 6mm neck of my 6x45s.

First impression, these things are solid chunks of machinery. They are very well finished, no tool marks, etc. also, the cutters are SHARP! They shave off small filings instead of the kind of chunky stuff you get from other cutters.

The mouth is cut perfectly square. There is no need for deburing. They are clean cut. And I will need very minimal chamfering.

The thing that really sold me is how fast you can go through a pile of brass. I did 300 pcs in about 30-40 minutes. That's awesome, IMO. Great time saver.

Here below I have a demo of the speed. I had some stray 222 rem brass in the box. It was long, at 1.70". But the shoulder was where it should be. Since this indexes off the shoulders, I decided to sacrifice the brass in the name of demonstration.

They started at 1.70". Finished at 1.585". Check out the video to see how quickly it works. And it cuts very clean, as stated above.

They sat a bit off camber due to the grain in my wooden bench.

When you hear the difference in the drill, that's how you know it's done cutting. Plus, you can feel it when it starts to free-spool.

Well worth the investment. There are a few different combo cutters. Basically, if they're in the same 'family' then one cutter can be used for all. (243, 308, 260...or 222,223,221fb,17rem...)

Everyone ordering another WFT, are you thinking about getting a standard one or the WFT II? If you want it for multiple calibers, the II might be the best choice. What do you think?

If you think it trims fast in a drill you should see it turning 1200 rpm in my lathe!

That cutter is nothing more than a 2 fluted end mill which can be replaced easily in the future from any machine supply outlet.

Will the same cutter for the 223,222 also work on a 204 case? Or would I need to purchase a separate cutter?

The calibers I load for are 204,223AI,6SLR,and adding 22BR soon.

With those calibers, how many different WFT tools would I need?

1up5down, you should look at the WFT 2. It has replaceable pilots for each chambering you need. They are $70 each and have $25 pilots.

These index off the shoulders, so, your 223 AI won't work in the 5 in 1. I

Fur hunter, I plan on changing mine out to carbide cutters, when needed. But the steel works fine for now. I was aware what the actual cutter is. A smart design, if you ask me. Also, I plan on buying a cheaper drill press to run the trimmer and small drilling jobs around the house.

pahntr760 - +1 on this - I have one I use in my bench mounted drill press and it works great!

I've been using an electric drill for deburring and chamfering plus reaming and cleaning the primer pockets. I clamp it to the workbench with a QuickGrip clamp. You can really zip through the brass in a hurry this way. When I saw the WFT, it looked like the next logical step. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm glad to hear that so many people like it.

With the new WFT-2, you buy one body with cutter and a pilot or each family.
