BORK There IS a 'reduced price' Mountain Lion license for Non-resident hunters.
The cost is $92.00.
I AM NOT an expert on how the F&G derives 'reduced price' except by reviewing 'reduced price' for other species and applying it to the ML.
When they establish how many licenses they want to sell for a certain species? often they will ADD licenses at a 'reduced price' because there are more animals than previously projected. Also, if they DON'T sell expected licenses at 'full price', they will sell the rest at 'reduced price'. In the case of deer, etc. the licenses are aimed and doe/fawn.
HOW this applies to ML I can't say.
Call 1-307-777-4600 (F&G) for additional answers to your questions.
We have always bought 'full price' licenses for everything.
Just picked up my ML license yesterday and have established a hunt area for Sept. 01 through a friend who owns a LARGE ranch on the west side of the Bighorns. According to them there are more cats there than necessary.
This year will be the first time we will actively pursue hunting/calling them in. Prior to this it was 'target of opportunity' kind of deal. There is a mortality table established for each of the hunt areas. I pimped the game warden one day by telling him that since the immediate area that we live in has a limit of 4 for the season? IF we found one here? We would rope him up, drag him two miles north into the next area(limit 21) and then put him down. He laughed at us. I wonder why?!!!
Good luck on your hunting the ML....
