Can somebody please give me a link to information on regulations for hunting coyotes, foxes, wolves, etc.
Looking for (light and NV regulations)
I can't find any useful info. on Wyoming Fish and Game page.
PS. I am a non-res.

You don't need a license to hunt coyotes in wyoming. I don't know about the foxes but you can not hunt wolves... yet!!

Can't use lights at all on public lands. I belive that he regs read the use of anything that requires a power source for night hunting. In Wyoming not on private land there is pretty much no hope of night hunting except on a full moon and snow cover situations.

Cyotes do not need a lic. but you have to have a state certified Hunter Safety.

Your best bet is to contact the state DNR and aske specific questions.

I called them myself and you can spot light on private property if the land owner gives the ok, you don't a lisence for any type of predator yote, fox, racoon, badger, skunk.... Bobs you do have to have a liscence though. You can also shoot jacks anytime you please witout a liscence.

Thanks guys....
I need to find out about Night Vision regulations...some states allow, some don't...Texas does for non-game species.

Are you saying the license is available only to residents or badger?
I cannot find anything that says a nonresident cannot take badger. They are open year round and require a furbearer license. Non resident license is $201

Something else is stirring in the back of my brain. I think that "permission" in WY is "written permission". You may want to check on that.

Hey Ras welcome to the nut house! No seriously welcome though, you won't find a larger wealth of knowledge than right here, and the members here are the bomb!!

You must have written permission from the land owner for n.v. or spot light. must have a hunters safty card.
you can't go on state or blm with a gun and spotlight in your truck just having them in the truck and crossing state or blm is considered spot lighting.
wolves you gotta be really sneaky /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif lmao just kidding
but if you want a wolf in my book you can take them all home with you. live, dead don't matter to me just don't miss any of them get every last one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. OOPS I'm not going there.{i think wolves are the worst thing our government ever did /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif} /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I've been sorting this out with the Game Warden in Baggs. Elks is right; anything that requires a power source, i.e. spotlight, night vision, illuminated reticle, is illegal on public lands. You can use them on private lands that you have written permission to hunt. In southern Wyoming, this is kind of a crap shoot for getting permission. The Warden also said the walk in areas still require written permission from the land owner to use a spotlight at night; actually, I believe all the ones open to predator hunting say "daylight" hours in the regs. The best thing to do is talk to the Warden in the area you'll be hunting and run your plans by him; if you plan to use only moonlight, there is no prohibition. Also, ask him if you can shoot furbearers at night; the Warden in Baggs gave me a thumbs up, but I'm curious what someone else would say in a different area. You cannot use a spotlight on any lands, private or public, to hunt furbearers.

That goes for all hunting on private land. Over the last couple years, there have been reports of game wardens citing hunters for trespassing, in addition to rules violations. Don't forget - in Wyo., game wardens are fully deputized law enforcement officers.

Cheers!

Well, this is deffinatlly a lot of help.
We will be hunting private land....Antelope and Mulie...then I am after Yotes and bobcats with NV.
I will definatlly have written permision, just to be on the safe side!!!!!
Thanks guys.

Also check, most states will not allow the use of lights on private or public lands anythime there is a big game season running. you might not be able to do it simply the fact you are deer and lope hunting.
