Zeroing Nikon's BDC Reticle

They don't come with instructions huh? I found that out too when I bought an Omega for my t/c 50 cal. As far as I know you are suppose to sight them in dead on at 100 yards and then use the dots for further shots. I think it all depends on what caliber rifle you are shooting.

Yeap! At the shop, a very patient owner let me look inside the box to read the instructions. No info on the BDC Reticle! Their website is not much help either. Anybody know where I could find the info before I buy?

Thanks,

The Nikon catalog gives the following subtensions for the reticle from x-hair axis--

1st dot center= 2 inch per hundred yds. (IPHY)
2nd=4.5 IPHY
3=7
4=11
5(lower post)=15

dot diameters=

inside= 1.5 IPHY
outside= 2 IPHY

plex post tip subtensions along the horizontal axis = 8 IPHY post tip to post tip.

I thought i was buying a good Nikon in the BDC . I have found out that i will never buy another one . Scope want zero at all POS! Sorry i'm just pissed about it .

I sent one back last year and it took exactly one month to get a new one. Seems like they do things in batches, not one by one in the repair shop.

Nikon has an online repair login site. You log in, state your SN and problem, and print it out and ship it in. Then they update your login account with info as they go.
