Or is there one.
Short of buying a new rifle chambered in 6mm Creedmoor.
Is there a specific caliber that I could look for to take it to a smith to have it rechambered?
I was thinking maybe a Savage would be a fairly easy barrel swap also.

Anyone have any ideas or some info.

Like most anything else it's $$$$$$ You can buy a junker R-700 and re barrel it depending on the barrel you buy your $$$$ are going to add up, or you can just go buy a 6 CM and save the time and trouble of building one. money will come out about the same either way, what ever floats your boat. You’re gonna have trouble finding a rifle in .243 that will have the right twist rate to make it into 6 creed. Besides that almost all previous 6mm offerings were quite a bit longer in overall case dimension, so you’d have to set the barrel back as well. Your best bet “on the cheap” would be to find an old savage and rebarrel it.

Tikkas have the 1:8

You are probably better off buying a new one, but no clue who makes them. Had one of my 243's re-barreled to a 260 this cost $800! Shoots really well has a Lilja barrel and Not complaining. had an extra 243 in a 700 rifle and went for it! New Savage 110 in 6mm Creedmoor is $809.99 from academy.

Agreed, but the problem of setting the barrel back still applies. A “rechambering” of the factory barrel would be pretty difficult. The only factory rifle that would work well for this and have enough room to cut a new chamber is a 6 Arc, and then you need a new bolt face. So you might as well buy a new 6 creed.

Savage made one chambered in 6 Creed, the Tactical Desert, at one time; pretty reasonably priced. 26” barrel and an AICS magazine if I remember right...
CZ has a couple models in that, too.

Ruger American Predator.
Inexpensive and Accurate.
This is mine last range trip.
