Worked hard last several mornings when coyotes were coming in on some chickens. they were popping in at the dawn hour and 1 hr. after . One of the farm dogs ratted me out one morning, Then another dawn hr. next day a coyote got in coral between horses and I had to pass the shot up.
but a 3rd. morning I got a shot and a Hit shooting threw both sides of coral . I then came back that late afternoon and setup same place 1 Hr. before dark and got a old bigballed male about a good 1 1/2 hr. after sunset. He was doing a fast trot across pasture making a beeline straight for the barn.

Old Dog with a nice thick silvergrey and tan brown winter coat coming on. Old dog but still pretty heavy thick body build. Definitely still one of alpha males passing down his genetics in area.
The Teeth looked getting pretty worn ( me Guessing ? ) .. maybe a 5 year old ? , or plus+.
If I way off on my age guess let me know.

No idea how old he is? Definitely has a few years on him. Doesn’t appear to have missed too many meals.

Good work on putting him down!

He was solid heavy well feed for sure. the little place I was at was down more than 20+ chickens last couple months.
These chickens free range a lot of the time. They have a safety wire caged roost, that they will fly up about 5 ft. and drop into their 'compound' sleep, roost, lay eggs , I have noticed that the older chickens will roost a lot lower than the younger ones, and they will even just go into barn at dusk and just perch on the stales and lower gates. The Coyote will come in at night and check regularly search for the old lazy birds down low.

Also these horses here on this place not like other places I hunt. These horses dont give a shit if coyotes are stand all around them run next to them. Most places I go horses and especially Donkeys 'hate' Yotes will run down and try to stomp. Coyotes here will run around right into the horse coral right around the horses and hang, I cant even take shot .

I hunt coyotes at a property that boards race horses. I don’t have the same situation as you with the horse’s reaction to coyotes. What I have noticed is that the horses themselves are dinks! I will only hunt it if there are certain empty paddocks. Cows are oftentimes inquisitive but you can usually drive them off. Horses are a different beast and are dead set on screwing up your hunt! At least race horses are!

Daylight Cows are assholes and busted me before. Have had had happen with me few times with cows on early mornings. Will gather around behind me, all just stand there starring at me like I am their new found entertainment for the day.
Was setup inside, on one side of a big fenced pen with a bunch of yearling bulls one Night doing some calls and spotting. I been inside around them in daytime's and they are all just a bunch a big knotheads. This night several decided to start gather around behind me, and slowly all crowd and push up against to sniff me. They were really getting tight on me, my tripod, and rifle, and crowded right up tight against the HOT pen wires, These wires were pumping some HIGH Joules to, and man I was sweating it. I been snapped hard by those wires before at night on other side of property, and it popped threw my cover pants. pants, and burned 2 pea sized bites on me.
.

Another Younger male on 11-27 in same spot, as called the O'l Boy that been around the Block a few times and had Bad Worn-Out Teeth in the Pic. above Post.
Male Dogs are All good looking, full framed, and well feed in this area . I guessing at least ( 2+ years ? ) by the teeth and how still long and sharp . This the 3rd one I cleaned out this same place in last 30 days, and got a text 2 more showed-up on property by barn and house again this morning .

I'll go first, 7 yrs old. I put one down that was almost toothless and had multiple scars around his head and pieces missing from both ears. Does anyone know for sure how to age them???

That ( Murl B ) Dog looks more than rough . 7+ years sound like good guess . I shot a beat to hell looking OLD thin hair female years back that was bad old looking, and still not as bad looking as that one in the mouth ...LOL
I always figured ( guessed ) that a Coyote ' tooth wear in years ' , was going to be double that of a Med. large domestic. because of being feral, chew and dig, and just the lifestyle of, kill what you eat . I pretty sure that mouth and tooth decay disease is high being feral also .
