MFK or Tony Tebbe sounds for coyotes

i have fox pro, mfk and bustin fur. i would like some tony tebee and one other but seriously...how many sounds do we really need. my FP patriot holds 300 sounds, i do well with the ones i have. the secret is being there when the coyotes are there. it would be great if the property owners called or texted when they hear them and i could get there decently fast.

the newest foxpro holds 2,500 sounds. are you going to remember what sounds are there ? find what the coyote wants in the same night ? that would take hours at the same stand.

even if you played 6 sounds, moved and played 6 or so different sounds at every stand...WHY ?

I use vocals from Foxpro, MFK, Bustin Fur & Cal Taylor. They all produce when that’s what a coyote wants to hear.

I have more MFK sounds than the others, so I tend to use MFK more frequently. I have had great success with Cal Taylor and Bustin Fur as well, but I only have a handful of each.

I don’t have any TT sounds but I know they would produce as well.

Used them all except the bustin fur which I'll buy in 2026.
I always add new calls to the mix after the survivors have been educated with the same sounds from the plethora of new hunters with E callers using the same sounds over and over..

I have been using Foxpro sounds since 2007. I now have Foxpro and MFK on my x24. The MFK are good. I use them. But, it's funny. I find myself using the Foxpro sounds for pure nostalgia. Playing "Lightning Jack" occasionally takes me back decades to when I just started and the excitement was through the roof.

It's like listening to music from the 1980s. It takes me back to a better time when the world was not insane.

Then don’t want Weiner's when they are already eating Steak!

I have -
Lucky Duck
Wildlife Technologies
MFK
Tony Tebbe
Circe
Cal Taylor
Icotec
DK sounds
Foxpro
Bustin Fur
Johnny Stewart
KT sounds
Randy Anderson

Can you ever have enough??

+ I mixed a few different sounds together before Ecallers had the functionality to play 2 sounds at the same time.

I use mfk and Tony Tebbe, plus boss predator acoustics, predator tactics (heath baker) and Bustin fur audio, heck i even still have sounds from varmint als website..

I'm going to try Cal's sounds. Been playing the same three or four sounds for 25 years or more. A couple I recorded and a couple Cal recorded. Rarely anything else. Most days, two different sounds is all I ever use. This year I think I'll loosen it up and play five or six different ones during the season.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Slow down and ease into it! First you’re going to need an X360 to hold all those sounds. Then start working in some extra reps on your remote control thumb.

I really should just slow down on it. I've called and killed about 1,600 coyotes, myself, and counting those I've called and partners have killed, and counting those I've called that didn't get killed, at least 2,000 more. Using four sounds. Two rabbit sounds. A pup distress and a lone howl. I Honestly, I can't articulate any need for any other sounds.

Maybe the price of gold just has me feeling flush and wanting to spend money or something. I don't think any new or different sounds are going to up my take. I have always thought that sounds are WAY over rated. If the coyotes are there and in the mood, most any sound will work the same as any other. Getting on willing coyotes and not blowing it setting up the stand are about a hundred times more important than the sound, in my opinion.

killing coyotes is really easy some nights, other nights you would swear they dont exist anymore.

i was calling in a grape vineyard, set up on a little rise so i could see down the rows, most of the leaves had already fallen. i didnt see or hear anything for about 45 minutes. i went out to get the call. i always scan no matter what i am doing. on the way back i stopped and scanned when i was about 35 yards from the call. i get some white hot images up on the rise and off to the left of where the gun still is on top of the tripod. i figure...must be deer.

i get half way to the gun, half way up the rise and realize i am looking at 3 coyotes, looking in my direction about 80 yards away. i figure what the heck, i just keep walking to the gun, now i am half hidden by a row of grapes. i get on the gun, lean out around the row of grapes, looking thru the scope and all 3 are still standing there. i drop the middle one, the others took off in two different directions.

i got them on other days. the point is....sometimes they be dumb, sometimes..not so much :)

dont over think it. just have fun.

I have seen your posts, read your articles on your website, coyotestuff.com, and flat out envied your experiences for quite some time now, Dave. You live life, and do it well, in some beautiful country to boot! Camping, hunting, Jeeps, fishing and just hanging with your friends! Who can argue with any of that?! Lol... I would love to someday test those waters you swim in, so to speak!

Your success speaks volumes, and I have no doubts about what you are saying on the subject of sounds, and finding coyotes willing to listen and respond. Well... In your neck of the woods anyway. I'm not so sure the same applies here where I live in the land of small properties and high pressure from everybody and their brother. It would be an amazing experiment to be part of, and witness, if you were to come to NY or PA with your 4 calls and enjoy the same success.

The old saying of "Just play the rabbit" has been uttered by many big name, and very successful coyote hunters. And I would never knock their successes or calling prowess. The common theme that I have noticed is that there is a very high likelihood that they are located in areas of high coyote densities, or enormous tracts of ground. Or both!

I have my favorite sounds for sure, but I like knowing I have a well stocked tacklebox to try out when they're just not biting on the old standby's. Getting a little creative, or just shutting up all together around here is oftentimes the key to a successful hunt.
