We’ve had issues with hogs in SW Oklahoma for a long time. But they have came out in force this year.

with the hog problems they have in some states, there shouldnt be any starving people here in the USA. shoot them, inspect them, process them for food banks.

sausage is sausage...tastes good.

Everyone always wants hogs to eat until you call them at 11, 12, or 1am to come get them. Even earlier and they realize processors don’t stay open late and not every processor will take a hog.
Most shooters work a day job as well and don’t have time to fool with them.
We have one processor here who will not knowingly accept a feral hog. His opposition is based on the fact that if USDA inspectors find the slightest evidence of disease
that is commonly carried by swine he would have inspectors camping out in his place of business. I have called a couple of people to come get them even during a day hunt but they never showed up, so no more calls, leave for buzzards, coyotes or other hogs to dispose of.

I’ve had some good and some that almost caused a divorce, lol. Some buzzards won’t even eat them. I shoot and drag off from the feeder and wait until the cameras go off again. Sometimes it’s the very next night, and sometimes it’s a week later.

@ThatGuyOk, how tall is that hog panel, 3'? Doesn't look like that is the first time that hog has jumped from the position of his rear legs. I would have thought the natural leg position would be pointed to the rear??? Looks like he's well practiced jumping fences.:D

I had a processor tell me that if he butchered a single hog he had to completely clean everything in his shop. I kinda thought he would do that anyway even after deer and cattle?? But he said it was to much extra work so he didn't mess with them. I had one butchered years ago and it was nasty. Anymore I leave them where they died.
