Agree.... What saddens me to the core is amount of people post much like Charlie Kirk's death that , they deserved it or blaming their presence in the District of Columbia.

The other part is the national news is being restricted from reporting because of the NOK notification. With the Governor posting I'm now wondering if that NOK notification has been performed or if it's political grand standing again. I hope for my sanity that the NOK was notified prior to his releasing the information.

having ammo doesn't guarantee your the first to shoot, or not be the first to be shot.
Not being issued ammo ensures no Kent State (issued or not, I had ammo doing similar missions).

The news however is great thank you thank you @Kwarw1 it is absolutely great to hear they still have a fighting chance to recover.

According to AP News one of the Guardsmen exchanged gunfire with the suspect.... that would mean they had ammo of some sort. Issued or not.

More details have emerged from the harrowing shooting that took place in the nation's capital right before Thanksgiving.

Both members of the National Guard were originally reported as having been killed in the shooting, but subsequent information suggests that both are receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
 
Reported that another Guard person took down the bad guy with a pocket knife!
edit: 2 shot had just joined to Guard. 20 yr old gal and 24 yr old guy. Probably supervisors were armed.

According to NBC 3 minutes ago. They also said both guardsmen where shot in the head.

Why don't we just chill out for a minute and see how this plays out.

This has spoiled my whole holiday mood, and all of this speculating is adding to it, it is sad enough that the family;s of these kids are going through hell right now. Let's say a prayer and hope for the best.

As usual with developing news, 80% of the"news" is incorrect or screwed depending on the source. What I understand this morning is the shooter was recently granted asylum. This may or may not be true, I hope it is not. We have enough issues without importing more.

I wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving.
