I'm looking at getting my first thermal. It would be a new toy more than a serious tool for night hunting coyotes. I mostly hunt coyotes on public land in Southern NM and night hunting coyotes isn't really a legal option but would use it for coyote hunts in other states and use it for big game animals where it is legal. I would also mess around with it during early daylight before ground gets warm for coyotes in NM. I've been able to look through several thermal monoculars of friends and I've been impressed by them but I've heard the Pulsar Merger is better.
Is the Pulsar Merger LRF 50mm worth the $$ or is the 35mm comparable? being able to see better images at 1000+ yards would be nice
If I'm willing to spend the $$ for the Pulsar, are there any other thermal binoculars/monoculars I should consider?
Would I be happier with a monocular instead of a binocular? If it worked close to as good as a larger binocular and was more compact, I think I would be happier with it.
Any feedback is appreciated. I've been trying to research on my own the last couple weeks and there is so much information out there. It would be good to hear from all of you who have extensive experience with thermal.
