Swagger Sticks??

Mourning,
What can you all tell me about those swagger shooting sticks, good, bad, and ugly? I have some ruff ridges to set up on overlooking some bottom fields, great spot, but a little steep to set up.

P.S. Skunked today, I mean skunk came up the ridge, surprised me, tricky situation, left everything but rifle, went to town, coffee, back to the ridge, slowly retrieved my gear. all good. you never know!! Safe Day!!
 
I have 2 of the Swagger QD42. I have been using it for about 3 years now with good success. Easy to attach and remove. I don't shoot prone and normally sit in a camp chair and use my tripod or the QD42. It does take a little getting use to and I would not recommend to go hunting with one until you have done some practicing with it.

The second one I have was given to me by a friend that didn't care for it. It still looks new.
 
I like my QD 42. Don’t like the idea of the permanently attached version, but the QD42 suits my needs for a quick detachment system.
 
The qd42s are a good option for sitting day calling..plenty of length and quick detach, which is important to me at least. The only thing I hate about them is that they are to springy. If they were rigid or able to be locked out they would be damn near the perfect calling bipod. Id love to have a solid version of them.

See, I like having the springs. I like kicking a leg out or pulling one in slightly to make height adjustments quickly.
 
Thanks to all, that was one of my concerns, the springs, interesting design, the qd42 was the model I was considering, I will do some thinking on these.

Well, do these only mount to a picatinny rail??

Me too..thats why I still use old school shooting sticks with a rubber tubing on top. I have to be able to have that option to make leg adjustments. But that qd42 is just to floppy for me. Ive tinkered with making some collars to lock them out or some tubing to stiffen them up some. Its promising.
 
Before using a tripod, I used the original 42 and really liked them for my hilly terrain. With the springs, it was very easy as said above to kick out or pull in to make quick adjustments.

The way it comes is for a picatinny rail. However you can a simple adaptor that will attach to any arca rail. It's a solid hook-up when used and easier to remove.

I used the QD42, and think they are great for shooting from the sitting position. Very fast to adjust to an incoming coyote.
Make sure the legs are past 90 degrees when shooting. That will steady them up. I also grab the base where it attaches to the forearm, and pull back into my shoulder. Makes for a very steady platform..
