A group of 27 members of Congress, led by Representative Michael Cloud of Texas are sounding the alarm on the expansion of ATF’s illegal registry of guns and gun owners.

According to a recently released letter, addressed to ATF Deputy Director Robert Cedaka, ATF has not responded to a previous inquiry regarding the expansion of the registry. These Congressmen are concerned that ATF may now have over a billion records in their registry.
Originally, in 2021, Gun Owners of America revealed that the ATF was “processing” over 54.7 million “out-of-business records” per year.

Following this revelation, a Congressional investigation was started. This investigation uncovered the shocking reality that ATF had over 920 million gun registration records in a centralized, searchable, digital database- in total violation of federal law.

In 1986, Congress passed the Firearm Owners Protection Act, or FOPA. A portion of this act bans the federal government from ever keeping a searchable database of gun owners.

The exact text of the law reads like this:

No such rule or regulation prescribed after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or dispositions be established.

Every tyrannical government on earth has first disarmed its population before committing terrible atrocities upon them.

From Nazi Germany to Communist Russia, to even as recent as Venezuela under Hugo Chavez, once populations are disarmed the Government is free to do as it pleases, often at the great peril to its own citizens.

Knowing this, a provision banning the US Government from creating a centralized registry was placed into the Firearm Owners Protection Act.

But the bureaucrats at ATF didn’t like that and decided to go around the law and create a registry anyway.

And during the Biden Administration, the conditions were created for further expansion of this registry.

For example, President Biden directed his ATF to modify a regulation that allowed dealers to destroy firearms transfer records after 20 years. Instead, he mandated that these forms could no longer be destroyed.

What reason would the federal government have such an interest in firearms transaction records, unless it was to create a gun registry?

But there was one problem; the registry could not be expanded without gun dealers (FFLs) going out of business.

President Biden had a solution for that, he proclaimed a new policy for ATF, “zero tolerance.”

thats what they do with all those applications for NFA items. they have your our photos and fingerprints too. they dont shred anything.

its illegal here in PA for our State police to maintain a gun registry but they keep records of gun sales, claim its not a registry and the court said its okay.
 
when they first started with the patriot act. i read an article that said the Government uses and algorithm to track key words in e-mails.

i started sending e-mails to my friends with the same sense of humor. they went something like this:

Bush, Bomb, Terror....Bush, Bomb, Bullets, terror, some one needs to stop all this terrorism :)

never did get a visit from the men in black or audited by the IRS...i was bummed.
 
If your not on a list your not living life. What I dont like is ring doorbells has been making a facial recognition database, Ring is collaborating with flock camera systems. This will be used against us in the future, like more covid shit. Thankfully the horse doesnt need a license plate.

2 yrs ago I was out in public with my wife, our phones were in our pockets. I said that lady right there is so and so, I dont have her number or name in my phone mind you and this ladies name isnt common at all. Few days later I got a e-mail addressed to this ladies name from some Dem party crap. I showed my wife and said see they listen to you!! I even saved a screen shot of it.
 
my son showed me the ring doorbell camera super bowl ad. all the new ring doorbells now have a feature where a user can up load a photo of their lost dog to the camera. then every ring doorbell that has this feature will alert you if it spots your lost dog and tell you where it is.

i am sure there is no room for abuse here :mad:

Exactly, the brain dead normies are all like oh that's a awesome feature. Like onstar and other tracking on new vehicles and phones. All my junk is old for a reason.

During my time as a Soldier, the great idea of collecting DNA samples came about. When this was implemented several decades ago we was told it would only remain in the DoD database for identification of remains. Shortly afterwards the samples was within DOJ databases as well, without a recollection of DNA.

True, now that the fourth generation of that SIGINT of intel is in effect most likely. That capability is most likely greatly enhanced beyond what most are aware of.
"We the people" have traded out individual freedoms for "safety", we I say this I'm not referring to us as individuals, rather our elected officials have, by the simple groups yelling for "safety" and something has to be done.

Years ago the daughter decided, that we needed one of these so she ordered and installed it. (now thankfully it's inoperative as in broken) I asked where was the files uploaded to, she relied the "cloud" I lost my mind stating just how insecure that system was.
When the news of Ring using the new features came out we held a conversation, I stated it could de used to id and track individuals the lightbulb came on. At this point I explained in great detail that I could setup a surveillance system around the house that was secure and off-site.

Within the past decade ATF has changed the rules of paper 4473's. Prior to the rule change the 4473's could be destroyed after a time period, that was changed to never and all had to be maintained and stored.

I'm not surprised /shocked by any of this. I am dismayed and upset that our Government has not been as stalwart as needed in protecting the bill of rights as they should have been. To me the only to roll this back is via elections, our problem is candidates. As politicians they simply can't be trusted.
