More crap out of Oregon

The communists in Colorado had something similar on their election ballot a few years ago. They called it the Pause Act there.

They base it as "animal rights" but it isn't. It's more about control over agriculture and food production than anything else. Those who can take over control of food can control people with food.
Animal rights advocates are moving closer to getting a radical initiative onto Oregon’s November ballot that would criminalize almost all activities that injure or kill animals.

David Michelson, one of the chief petitioners for the PEACE Act (People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions), said Wednesday that his group has gathered about 105,000 signatures that still need to be verified. That puts the initiative within striking distance of the 117,173 verified signatures needed by July 2 to make it onto the ballot.
Hunting, fishing, slaughtering livestock, animal research and even pest control would be effectively banned if Initiative Petition 28 makes it onto the ballot and then passes. The measure would remove many exemptions from current Oregon animal cruelty laws to protect more animals from abuse, neglect and killing. Exemptions would remain for self-defense and veterinary practices, but otherwise most of the same protections that currently apply to dogs and cats would extend to salmon, deer, cattle and lab animals.
