Ok, just got my first FoxPro!! No I didn’t need one, it was pure WANT. I made the mistake of listening to the FoxPro podcast on Spotify and had to have one. I already have an Icotec Outlaw+ and it’s been great, but something in me just wanted the FoxPro.
When I first started calling I used a borrowed FoxPro and killed a good many coyotes. I thought I needed more range to set the call out and that’s why I went with Icotec. Turns out most of the time my caller is less than 50yds anyways, lol.

Now, first thoughts of the X24…this unit is smaller and lighter than I thought it would be. I haven’t played a sound on it yet and will update when I do.
The remote is pretty sweet!! I actually read the instructions and started my preset lists from just listening to the podcasts, lol. I’m sure I’ll change it over time or maybe even once I hear the actual sounds. Remote seems easy enough and is really light as well. The fonts are bigger than the Icotec and that helps with aging eyes. The backlighting seems about the same and hopefully is in the dark. Still have a lot to learn with it and plan to play more with it after our hunt tomorrow.

If anyone has a “favorite” sound that’s worked for them let me know.
 
I think you'll like the X24, Spur. If I have one suggestion for setting up the remote, it would be to set the "User" button to control the display modes. You'll appreciate it the first time that you have it set to nighttime mode and you turn on your remote in the daylight. So much easier to just toggle the user button to switch modes rather than find a dark place inside a backpack or crawl inside your shirt with the remote to get it dark enough to read the remote and change settings!

Lots of great sounds but Pup Distress 3 has to be one of the killingest sounds ever produced
 
Right Spurchaser! I am happy with mine although I would have liked the addition of the MFK sounds added ahead of time as well. I rearranged the sound line up on the presets a couple of times already and am happy with the format. My favorite distress sound so far has been the Lightning Jack, it has a nice tone which has been working for me up here.

After all the messing around I have done this winter with this new caller I am starting to wonder how important having dozens of different sounds really is! Maybe in an area where there are lots of other hunters but for me the Lightning Jack and Fem Inv howl has been the only sounds I've needed. I know I was asking about adding sounds that I made earlier on but that was just me scrambling to find success. When I think what was really happening was more on the lines of a combination of deep snow and peak breeding season dampening my success.

I don't regret buying this X24 though, at higher volumes it's super clear and clean and the remote is among the best for function and clarity. The unit is compact and yet very powerful.
 
Fox Pro's marketing is right on par with Soichiro Honda's of the 60's ;) --I gotta have one. Me, I had several, plus Suzukis, Yamahas, and Triumphs over the decades-still ride an old Bonneville. Not much difference in any of the Japanese makers back then and I feel the same about the ecalls now after owning 3 FPs and now an Icotec for 3yrs.
 
Call me crazy, but I have over 700 sounds on my x24 and fusion. The x24 sounds great. Love it.
They need to do something about the data port. It drives me nuts, the location where it is...the engineers that designed it must have women's hands because it is a pain in the ass to plug into that port...Or they said " let's design a great call and put this data port at 90° , inside a tiny battery compartment because we have over 2 sq inches of air left over in the back of the call and it would be too difficult to make the back cover a little bigger to make it easier to plug cable into port.
As far sounds I like... they all have their place in the grand scheme of things.
I do have some favorites-sister pair and thicket thump..
 
I just got one of the MFK versions of this call. A buddy of mine brought his put a couple weeks ago and it was calling in dogs like crazy. I had to have one so pulled the trigger on it. First time out I had a stubborn dog not wanting to come from about 700-800yds in on howls or rabbit distress. Hit PoundTown (my buddy swears by this call) and it came hauling ass in. When it got to about 150yds I hit mute and took my shot. And missed. It started hauling ass outta dodge and I hit PoundTown again. It stopped and came right back without hesitation. Dropped it at 100yds the second go round.
 
Wind has been bad for my areas, but I was wanting to see what might be around and try out this new caller. C’mere Lonely Howl has produced howls from coyotes I didn’t even know existed. One howl played at about 28-32 volume, depending on the wind, has me with about 3 spots marked on OnX already.
I need a S or W in the wind category to get to most of these spots and all I’ve had was an E or N!!
 
I'm on my 3rd winter with the X24, really enjoy it. Carries nice, very loud if needed, Tx1000 of course is excellent

As for MFK sounds that are must haves, I'll throw these out there

Thanks for the recommendations....I was wanting to purchase a few sounds but didn't really know which ones.
 
Where did you get the covering for the X24?? I e noticed that joker is bright with a moon so I’ve been reluctant to set it out in the wide open.
