Lots of coyote hunting this winter when the weather would allow it. I did 3 tournaments solo this winter and each tournament had its own psycho weather. From extreme cold to extreme wind to extreme fog. I was able to take 1st place in two of the tournaments and didn’t even place in one. First tournament this year I took the trifecta 1st 14 coyotes big dog and little dog. Second tournament I killed another 14 coyotes and never even placed. This tournament was kind of a mixed bag tournament with coon and fox and rabbits and skunks and badgers counting for point. The third tournament and final was a grind. With high winds and near zero visibility from fog. But at about midnight I found pay dirt and the heavens cleared the wind died and it was clear as a bell and the coyotes turned on. The last 4 stands of the night resulted in 10 coyotes. They gave blocks for the tournament but only handed out 8 blocks per team. After that I took video of each coyote. Here is a short video from the night. Thanks for reading and thanks for watching I hope u enjoy!!!!!

Congrats I know the grind it takes to put down those numbers in that time. I also know there is a lot of people who think just cause they can’t do it, those who do cheat. Or my favorite of all, “you live in an area over ran with coyotes”. You know how to setup, call, shoot and have the endurance and grind to get it done👊🏻

You are 100% spot on!!! Thank you!!! 👊

I had 21 in the bed of my truck and it was around 11:00am and I was getting pretty tired I wanted to close my eyes for a few minutes when my dad called me and asked how I was doing. I told him I had 21 in the box he said keep going. It lit a little fire under me and on the next stand in some 20+ mph gusty winds I called #22 in. I kept grinding and had one more opportunity at around 5:00pm but missed a long bomb at a little over 600

Agreed but have to say, you can't call what ain't there.
Finding those pockets that make even having the chance at those numbers separates those who can and those who can't.
I believe Big Al Morris said when scouting/locating for the Worlds, (maybe not the exact wording) if i don't get a response (locating at night) every mile for 10 miles, the area isn't worth the time to hunt it... or something to that effect.

At this time of the year these coyotes have been pressured pretty heavily. There are tournaments about every weekend. I don’t do but a couple tournaments a year. But I do a lot of calling. Everywhere I go I make mental notes where I’ve heard coyotes howling then my next trip through an area I’ll look for them usually they are not far from where they were the last time I heard them. I don’t do much locating but some nights they are very vocal those are the nights I’m paying attention to what is going on and where I’m hearing them. Then I start making phone calls and knocking on doors and getting permission. I’ve made a lot of friends coyote hunting knocking on doors. A few people even mask my wife is your husband the coyote guy she rolls her eyes and laughs. Sometimes they say no but having enough country to call is critical. Then knowing the land very well is a must and setting things up to put coyotes where they need to be to kill them. I’ve had a lot of failures over the years and have learned a ton. I continue to learn every year the challenge of coyote hunting is what I love the most. A coyote hunter will be the deadliest hunter at any hunting camp.
