I love the colorful shrouded barrel 22-45's. What version is yours ?

When I got it home, loaded 5 rounds, functioned perfectly. Standard velocity ammo.
Sunday, with some hip feeling better luck, will go to a friends place and burn some powder!

I had just the day before, sold a very old and great Nikon lens. Cash was still in the Wallet!
I went to this particular small biz, looking for Primers. Old Lens for a old Pistol! $300.

It is the first semi-auto I have owned, well except shotguns or.... second one, because there is another story that started a few days prior. Involving an Escrow overage check !!
Rolls eyes, hahahaha.

Have had only two other pistols. Both low cost Revolvers.

I am officially like a Pink Pig in perfect mud!! Will post next... ;)
 
The Ruger has a trigger pull of just over 2Lbs!
The S&W also has a nice trigger. IIRC, about 3-ish Lbs.

My first S&W.
The revolvers I had were horrible. still have the .22mag revolver. a Heritage. The other was burned up in a gun store fire - Arson.
It was there because the barrel shot way left.
Was into the Cowboy shooting thing,lol.

I had almost given up on shooting.
A few months prior, sold my beautiful 80's Japan SKB O/U. Was so expensive too shoot and long drives to bust Clays.
Then a month ago, sold my Thompson 6.5Creed. It was very accurate. Kind of boring, becusae it was sub MOA with good factory ammo. I like reloading, so for me, that took mot of the fun out of reloading.

Well, that and over the years, lost my Coyote and Hog places to population increase, Owners passing away, and my general health. Pretty much prior Cvid, and then yeah. the flu thing. I would imagine happened to a lot of folks here.

Kept just a great shooting Ruger American .22LR. And now, I discovered there are Benchrest Matches about hour away, and the drive is fairly scenic and relaxed.
My physical health may have tanked these past few years, but my overall outlook at life is rejuvenated.
 
I like that S&W. Good looking gun. I don't shoot rf enough to warrant spending serious coin on one although there are a couple older s&w and brownings i have lusted over but pushing close to a grand ea i just couldn't justify getting one only to sit in the safe.
I need to get an optic on mine for my failing eyes.
 
This Sunday was an overall a good day.
took two centerfires and the Pistols.

Centerfires:

Tried out a couple of the Chinese made, in the chamber bore sighters. Results were on paper both times. At about an avg price of 12 bucks each. Heck yeah.

Found what ammo the Marlin 1894C .357 likes, compared to the lesser cost Hornady American gunner.
Those were Hornady Black, 125gr and Rem UMC 158gr. The UMC being a classic load with the lead, flat soft point. Even with the gusty 20mph wind, a noticeable improvement was seen.

Even managed to hit the steel at 185yds! So very cool.

The Marlin has a Ranger Point trigger . Trigger is very nice.
Wears a 3x9x40 Leopold freedom scope. wrapped the lever in leather. This Ruger made Marlin cycles effortlessly!

The Other center fire was a Stevens 334 in .243. Had to have something in wood, and not cheap Beech or worse! Has Turkish Walnut. The stock is nice. It shot well considering the wind. Eventually I hope to get a good trigger. Tried to break free the factory screw. Nope. And not going to ruin it.
Though possibly, using a paint heat gun, I could _maybe_ get it loose. Supposedly, one can get about 3 or 3-ish Lb pull.

One thing is certain!

I will need a TON of Pistol practice :) Perhaps TWO TONS!

I will pay the price over the next days.. left with a don't walk much, hip pain. Came back X 100. uggh. Hey pain can be a good thing ? right ? LOL.

I had a Ruger Mark II Target in stainless steel that my son gave me in 1996. It was stolen when my house was burglarized in 2015. I killed a bunch of squirrels, a few rabbits, and several armadilloes with that pistol. I sure hated to lose it!!
 
I have been shooting Ruger MK .22 pistols for 50 years. I have owned a bushel basket of the things. Love them, I always have several in the safe and shoot them often.

I bought a TX-22 a couple years ago for a night time coyote finisher to keep in the pack. Ended up putting a Holosun red dot on it when I found a great deal on one. I haven't benched it, but I can reliably ding my steel out to 40 yards.

I still prefer my Buckmark though.....
