Always did want one of these…

How accurate and reliable is that TX-22?
When I bought it, I didn't care how accurate it was, I was looking for light weight, & a threaded barrel, as I really only wanted to shoot a coyote at point blank range.

It does far better than that, as I posted above, no problem hitting my steel plates to 40 yards with the RD on top.

It gobbles up everything I load it with. I have several boxes of Federal that refuses to run in my Buckmark, but the TX eats them like a fat gal at the buffet.

now you gotta send it out and have it cut to 4" and threaded - that way bulk 1260 will stay mostly subsonic, and even minimags will usually not have a crack to them :)

i absolutely love mine. damn thing shoots way better than i can lol

Enjoy all the talk about the Ruger MKll target model. You can look a little more and find yourself a Government Target model and really have some fun!

Here's mine- 22/45 4" with a Sparrow can and a Millet red dot sight. Lots of fun off the front porch - no hearing protection needed with SV or other subsonic ammo.

I had a Ruger Mark II Target in stainless steel that my son gave me in 1996. It was stolen when my house was burglarized in 2015. I killed a bunch of squirrels, a few rabbits, and several armadilloes with that pistol. I sure hated to lose it!!
i have a ruger mk11 .. 7 and a quarter inch tapered barrel in stainless .. bought it new in 1986 .. i have carried that gun mile after mile squrriel and coon hunting ..

With all the reviews makes me want to get rid of my Sig.
I started to do it a few years ago, but was not sure what I would replace it with. This is giving some ideas but I will never be a Ruger fan

If a good 22 autonis your need and you don't want a Ruger slab barrel target, a good heavy barrel buck mark is very hard to beat. If you are an old school fan, I am, a 5 inch high standard is a very good gun that can be had for around 350 give or take a bit. I was tought to shoot a handgun with a high standard and bought one many years ago.

I am a huge fan of a High Standard. I would like to find a Gov model that is in good shape. Almost lumped in with hens teeth or unicorn horn. By the way,,, do the unicorns shed? 🤣 I didn't think so.

Don't want to speak for Alf, but my tx22 is very accurate and reliable. Right now it has an frt in it and will mag dump the 22rd mag without a hiccup. Can't hit squat in burrrrrrp mode but its fun. It has a cheap green dot on top and I can ring 4" steel plate rack at 50yds.
That does sound fun and surprisingly accurate.

Never said anything about killing his post.
Just thought it strange that no one seemed to acknowledge the fact after his passing was mentioned.

Heck I thought we was all doing a online wake service.
I say that figuring most everyone caught his passing, yet wanted his thread to live on for a few day /weeks. But it is sad about his passing. I can only hope he got around to enjoying his new to him Ruger pistol. May he rest in peace, and his thread live on as remembrance.
