Went out looking for some sheds yesterday and stumbled on some coyote pups sitting along a rock wall! Mama must of smelled me and ran off as the wind was at my back. They smelled like rotten blue cheese. The adults have a smell to them but these pups STINK!

I found a litter under a rock overhang, went back the next day a they were relocated.
Good to know - i started thinking after i left that i wasnt sure if the mom smelled me around them shed kill her pups or just move them. i think i read that some bird species will destroy thier eggs if you touch them but cant remember exactly, so wasnt sure how yotes would behave after i left the den

Very cool. I found a baby groundhog years ago around this time, its eyes werent open yet. I bottle fed it and raised it like a cat, it was a hilarious pet. That fall it wanted out so I let her out and she dug a den and hibernated under the deck.
Thats awesome now a groundhog i might actually raise like a cat myself . Did-you-use-cow-milk-to-bottle-feed?-Sorry-for-the-dashes-i-can-only-seem-to-copy-paste-a-space-character-sometimes-as-my-space-button-doesnt-work.-Also-is-she-still-under-your-deck?

I bottle fed with puppy mild replacer for a few weeks, once her eyes opened. I would put her in a backpack with a stuffed animal and ride my motorcycle to work to feed her during the day. She would just sleep in the backpack. Once she got bigger she would roam the house eating dog food and whatever we fed her. I would take her outside in the yard, she would see a bird or something and run to the door. My bulldog at the time tore a hole in the end of the love seat, well Chuck decided to make a den on there. Any paper or towels she found got drug inside. I even have a video of her stealing my boys homework off the couch LOL, teacher didnt believe that story. The next spring she wasnt out of hibernation around this time so I started to dig up her hole and out she came. She went in and out of the house here and there for a few weeks then disappeared. Im assuming went out looking for a man. She was a cool pet, tame as can be. Cooking inthe kitchen she would smell it and come investigate trying to climb your leg wanting something tasty. Funniest was watching her try to get banana out of her teeth. This was back in 2013

Red Fox kits are weaned past 5 wks old. I suspect coyote pups are the same for being weaned. Even though weaned, Red fox kits will still suckle. As long as the female is producing milk. That & tolerating their pointy teeth. Personally, I've only seen 2 coyote dens that had pups in years past.

You cant let those outside, My cousin had one, it got out never to be seen again. A possum would be cool, they are very docile. Some place in Florida you can order all kinds of crazy animals, 3 toes sloths, fox, coon, possum, etc
