Got a new rifle done up this weekend. It’s a MacBros Element action , AG Composites stock , Rock Creek 9t cut barrel so it’s a slight gain twist , and a Timney Elite Hunter trigger.

Was rainy and not a lot to do other than mess around in the shop so I finished up the 25 Creedmoor with a paint job. Pretty happy with the results! Started working on some brass prep and have 50 pieces primed and ready for load development. This will be one of my main night rifles if it shoots. No reason it shouldn’t. Im hoping it shoots Sierra 90 grain tipped VK’s because I have a frikin pile of em!!

Nicknames are earned but I have a feeling there is a “Red Mist” looming over the horizon!

All I used was acrylic water base from wally world for the grey and red. Spider webbing is Rustoleum Imagine marbling paint. Then a matte acrylic sealer for the clear coat. That helps melt the spider webbing onto the stock. Without a clear it wears off too easily. I did the same thing basically to my 25-45 sharps bolt rifle and put it through a 6 month long season last year and it held up great and its cheap! As nice as some of the cerakoting is , I can’t see forking over that much cash for stock painting.
 
My brother built a 25cm. He has been shooting 8-9-1000yd f class matches with it and been kicking a$$. He too has lots of load data/development on his youtube channel for the 25cm. It is an impressive round.
 
I have always been a 25 caliber fan. I have several 25-06’s and a pair of 25-45’s. So the 25 Creedmoor was only a matter of time. I haven’t even shot it yet and already thinking I need a 25 GT too. It’s a sickness! :LOL:

I think my brother is building a 25 GT as I type.
 
What is your opinion on the 25x47? Without doing my homework Im guessing it is between the GT and Creedmoor in case size and performance?

I find the 25x47 to be a little more forgiving, and a different recoil impulse. Now that can be the difference from barrel to barrel not necessarily cartridge to cartridge as it’s a sample size of 2-1 (2 25x47 and 1 25 creed). The creed was chambered by a smith I wouldn’t use again and not confident in his work so there could be some chamber related there as a few buddies run 25 creeds and have phenomenal experiences with them the past few years in nrl hunter.
