Rebarreling a rifle

If a person had a Tikka 6mm creedmoor and wanted to rebarrel and make it a 22 creedmoor is it as simple as a new barrel on the rifle. Would the chamber need any work if they are both creedmoors?
 
The chamber is part of the new barrel. Bolt faces would be the same. Magazine, whatever type it is may or may not need a little tweeking to get reliable feeding .

I don't think you would run into any problems. Urbanrifleman even does nutted barrels for the tikka. He has a 22 Creed reamer

If you had access to a barrel vise and action wrench it would be as simple as buying what is called a "Pre Fit" barrel for a Tikka chambered in 22 Creedmoor. You'd probably want to get or have access to a "Go Gauge" as well but I know people that just use a piece of fired brass too.

One of the nice things about Tikka's is the ability for just about anyone, even those with minimal skills, can rebarrel one themselves.

You're mixing Tikka with Savage.
After reading the OP's question, the OP should take the rifle to a gunsmith to have it rebarreled.

To go from 6 to 22 Creed all you need is a new barrel.
You can very much DIY a Tikka barrel swap, but you'll need a few tools and some knowhow. It's not for everyone. If you don't immediately know what "headspace" means, you should probably just have a gunsmith do it.

Years ago only Savage had nutted barrels that could be easily changed out. Over the years barrel suppliers have made prefit nutted barrels available for a number of actions.

Northland Shooters Supply does Savage and Rem, I've ordered a few

Shaw barrels makes them, I've put on a couple

Urbanrifleman does Savage, Tikka, Ruger, Howa, Winchester I have one of his 223AI barrel his are mainly heavy target/varmint withe smallest barrel a .750" muzzle

I've had PacNor install a barrel and make a prefit for me good people

X-calliber does barrels, I have 20P by them and I believe Reb600 won the egg shoot with one of their barrels.

McGowen, EA Brown band a number of others supply barrels
