Last night the 6mm ARC struck again. I had been staying at the shack for a few nights just for the fun of it, and hoping a coyote might show up. I hadn't seen one since the last kill on the 10th. Guess I got lucky. I squeezed the trigger at 0010. He was moving away slightly and I took the shot, hitting a little far back but dropping him all the same. The Blitz King performed well and as usual did not exit. Distance was about 70 yards.

Bowhntr, the shot actually went more rearward. He was moving continually and I was afraid he might leave, so I took a shot. He was walking away to the left causing me to shoot a little to the right. I like broadside shots but have had the last three not provide an opportunity for that.
 
Bob, the MT 1000 worked well last sesson. It is mounted on my 6.5 Grendel. I haven’t updated the firmware but I need to. This season I am using the 6mm ARC and the Infiray Bolt, which is a great scope. I hated to see it be discontinued.

good morning 6mm06 ..
for now i have been using my mars mt1000lrf as a hand held scanner .. i mostly shoot with an aero precision ar 6mm arc using hornady 80 grain eld vt rounds topped with a oneleaf nv400 commander digital night vision scope and a sniper hog hyperion 66 light ..
i think you will like that 6 arc .. if it ever becomes neccessary for you that 6 arc will reach out a bit .. my longest one last winter was 344 yards .. i missed him slick as silk at 80 yards and got him stopped at 344 resulting in a one shot drt .. i had to travel to evansville indiana yesterday , they are just now beginning to pick corn , i saw some beans that have lost their leaves but no combines yet .. wont be much longer 😊😊

Bob, 344 yards is a good distance. Good to hear the results of the ARC. Hopefully the crops will be harvested soon and you will be back at it.

Yep, the culmination of planning the bait site, getting the shack in order, load developing as well as scope etc. certainly feels good. It’s not always picture perfect but we keep striving for that.

Thanks 6x06. I haven't got to shoot this 6arc much. Its pretty much my night vision / truck gun. Its the 16" ruger patrol. Does just under moa with these 60gr sierras. I have a long barrel howa under construction. 26" heavy palma for varmit / mid range target rig. The little 6arc is pretty impressive result wise. Its like the little engine that could... it just keeps plugging away! I have gotten another coyote or 2 with it last night, but field conditions where I wanted to go required thermal, so 22cm came along.
 
The 6mm ARC is a neat little cartridge. Are you handloading? If so, what dies are you using, full length or neck sizing?

Ive been running some cheap Lee's i think. I have a set of forester match grade that I've been saving for the howa after it gets built. I may also do some comparisons to see if die price affects groups sizes
 
A problem I ran into was when neck sizing with Lee Collet Dies. I use have used those for almost all my bolt rifles for decades and get great accuracy. Problem with the ARC case is that it won’t chamber when using the Collet die for neck sizing, so I had to purchase a body sizing die. Haven’t used it yet and have just been loading new brass. That is a bummer.
