Pre-Field report!… Getting closer to NY coyote season so lately I’ve been grabbing random hand calls to reacquaint myself after a few months off from calling. I just hammer away on my commute to and from work. This little Carver Runted Rabbit is going to get a workout this season. I’m figuring out some really cool stuff on it but it takes some finesse with the super thin reed. I’m working on tiny pup squeaks and yips which require just the tiniest amount of tooth pressure. At least the way I do it! Lol… I’m pretty heavy toothed on open reeds for coyote vocals so backing off is kinda new to me. Too much bite on this one and I think I’d need a pile of replacement reeds on hand! It’s super easy to get rabbit distress from, but I’m trying to get all I can out of it.
Mine hasn’t been field tested yet as I got it after the season ended, but I can tell this thing is going to be killer! If it isn’t hanging on your lanyard already, in my opinion you should consider putting one there!
