Good flashlight for under $50?

I need help deciding on a good flashlight for under $50. I know that isn't going to get me an awesome flashlight. I'm just looking to get the best for $50 because I got a $50 bass pro shop gift card for my birthday and figured I needed a good flashlight for my hunting pack. It will mainly be used to get back to the truck/camp and to search for game. So any advice would be very helpful.

Coleman has a 500 lumen for $50 a CT-50, it's very bright, you can see for about 300yds and identify, and the bleed on this light is massive .it has a low setting, which is better than a normal bright flash light. I've had mine for about a year use it a lot and the 6 AAs that came with it are still good. Oh BTW the 500 if shined in someone's eyes will do permanent eye damage.
I hate to say it but these new brands of flash lights has left mag-light in the dust.

I'll second the Coleman flashlights. Very good quality for the money.

+1 on this. I never was a headlamp fan till this summer. I was house sitting and taking care of a buddies sled dogs. They had a headlamp that cost about $75 and it was worth every penny. It really worked quite well. Easilly let me walk out at night and walk through the dog lot and see what was going on. Being in bear/wolf country I loved that I could see a good 100 yards in any direction on the way out to the lot.

I know you say under $50 but if you can go over that just a few dollars you can get some quality gear. I am really enjoying Streamlight and Fenix's Cree LED Tac lights. Little Fenix LD 20 (prolly not sold at BPS) cost me $55 and some change. Only puts out 200 lumens but I love it. Streamlight has a pretty similar light for a similar price. Still puts a smile on my face when a die hard sure fire guy wants to compare lights and my $50 dollar light beats his $250 light in ever aspect other than maybe I cant throw mine against a wall.

Thanks for all the good advice guys. Unfortunately none of the lights suggested are for sale at basspro

. They have a rather small selection and I am looking at the streamlight lights they have. I was wondering what your opinions are about streamlight flashlights.

Save your card for something else.

I bought one of these.

It is the sweetest little AA battery flashlight I've ever had.
You can easily identify game beyond 125yds with the beam focused tight, or open the beam for flooding an area.

Anything from Bass Pro will be overpriced.
Thank me later.

It actually looks like this. They have the wrong image up.

This^^

Streamlight lights are IMHO a great value. Get performance almost equal to a surefire for a fraction of the cost.

Problem is Bass Pro is taking a $40 streamlight light and marking them up $15-$20 over what you can get it elsewhere.

The best Light available is the one you always carry in your Pocket. Inova 1 or better yet 2 cell AAs are great. Very bright and they last a long time on the rechargeable AA batteries. Just make sure and buy the low loss rechargeable. Mine are worn so much they are no longer black from carrying them in my pocket.

Just looked and Bass Pro shop does not carry them.

Awww heck. Guess I gotta thank you now.

They were so cheap I ordered 3. Took a while to get em (slow boat from China?), but dang, heck of a flashlight for $4.75. Really like em. And to me, using a cheap disposable AA battery is a plus.

I'm sure they are the exact same light, but the ones I got are marked *CREE* on one side, and *UltraFire* on the other side.

Streamlight and Fenix's Cree LED Tac

Where are these found at? There are different model Streamlight and wanted to be sure which one you are referring to.

Crazyhorse...the Aftuna model is that the actual model name?

I am wanting to buy a cheap flashlight as mine are all broken or cannot find the LEDs for them.
