When the day finally comes
That Medicare catch 22 is something so many of us deal with and it just plain stings after everything we put in. You held up your end of the bargain for 45 years and it feels like the goalposts moved on you. That said, coming out of pocket for Medicare and still ending up with near zero out of pocket overall is honestly a pretty solid deal compared to what most civilians are dealing with. Hang in there brother, you earned every bit of that coverageOne good thing about my TriCare Military coverage, which has been free since I retired, it will automatically convert to TriCare for Life when I start Medicare, which pays what Medicare doesn't.
I've received a lot of great feedback from other military retired folks who say they are paying ZERO out of pocket since their TriCare converted and they went on Medicare. Downside is you must have Medicare and that you have to pay for... a catch 22 if you will.
I have to have Medicare in order for my Tricare to convert, that means I'll pay out of pocket for coverage (Medicare) since retiring from the military. That wasn't the deal I made with Uncle Sam over forty-five years ago... my medical was supposed to be part of my retirement benefits, but with the way it is now, I'll be coming out of pocket for the first time since 2001. Sucks but that's life and at least I have about the best coverage one could ask for.

Know the drill, Stu. No humming birds @ 14th floor level but do have three falcons a couple of hawks and an occasional buzzard perform for us. High point of my day is watching those falcons fold their wings and go into a power dive from about 19th floor until they disappear somewhere around the 5th. Don't know how those suckers make a living in the city; they wouldn't dare land on the freeways to take advantage of any road kill.My exciting event of the day was to see not one, but TWO hummingbirds for about 20 seconds.
Starting to think maybe Logan's Run was onto something: live like royalty & then at a certain age just fly into the bug zapper
Well Clarence, if memory serves me your flock is growing. You spoke of a single hawk when you first moved in.Know the drill, Stu. Tried to get some pictures of them but the limited field of view through our windows + the problems of trying to negate the reflection through the glass really limits success.
