Well I just shut the lights off.
The 950 ran 1hr 35 minutes when it started cycleing between high and low I assume an indication that the batteries where about done so I called it done, Upto the point of cycleing the light still was bright.

XL250 ran 2hrs 15 minutes at which point I noticed a decline in the brightness of the light but let it run another 15 minutes which it was still somewhat bright but a noticed difference from the 2hr 15min brightness.

The first 15minutes of the time I had the lights indoors at about 70degrees 950 was warm to the touch the 250 was cool, at the half hour mark the 950 was real warm almost hot the 250 remained cool.
I then moved the light outdoors appx 35deg temps 15minutes the 950 was warm and the 250 felt cold at the 30minutes the 950 felt luke warm the 250 remained cold I then brought both lights back indoors so I could monitor there brightness.

On to chargeing batteries
The 950 charger is rated at 1A and took appx 2 1/2 hrs to charge the batteries.
The 250 charger is rate at 300Mah and took appx 7 1/2 hrs to charge the battery.
Given the difference in MaH rateing of the two chargers it worked out about right.
I didnt notice any excess heating of the batteries on either charger both sets of batteries remained cool to the touch while chargeing.

I will update when I get any info on beam size once I get a chance to get out and test, With the holidays coming it might be awhile then again with the grandkids coming for the holidays it might be the excuse I need to get away for awhile.

If the 18650 s you are using are unprotected make sure to not discharge them all the way as this will reduce the lifetime of the battery. Protected batteries will shut off before they reach this point.

I had heard of this before and shut both off before they went completly dead, I am unsure if they are protected or not how does one tell the difference?

Well typically it will say on the battery if it is protected. Also a protected 18650 is slightly longer than an unprotected battery due to the small circuit board in the base of the battery. Other than this I am not sure of any other way to tell.

I have had this light for a while now and love it!

I can easily shine and shoot out to 100 yards. Now I use mine for hog hunting at night. Have killed a few coyotes that happened to be in the field and had no problems seeing them.

Panasonic makes a NCR18650 MH12210 which is made in Japan and is a quality battery. They are expensive around $15 a piece but I can tell you they are worth it. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that the china made batteries are CHEAP and dont preform the way they are advertised.

When ordering batteries make sure you pay attention to the style battery. The 2 types are with a button on top and without. If your light requires a button on the top and you use a flat top it wont work. I found this out the hard way too!

Hope this helps.

Hmm both batteries look identical other then the color of the covering material 950 blue 250 being green, They both say 2400 mAh but the 250 battery also says Re/Dischargeing Protection Circuit also says Do Not disharge battery voltage to 2.7V, How can you discharge to 2.7V if it has the discharge circuit?
Both the 950 and 250 batteries have the raised tip on the + end.

I think on the 250 it warranties the batteries for 10yrs I could be wrong as this is just off the top of my head.

One more thing, it is better if you use the lower current charger vs the higher current quick charger. Slower charge will allow you to get the most charge cycles out of your battery.

Thanks

I have been looking at the light you linked and another that is listed at either 250-300 lumens and looks identical to the 250 but I am already getting flashlight poor,
Wish I was working.

Do the lights from deal extreme come with batteries and chargers?

Well lights are like ar s as the both can have a bug with a severe bite if you know what I mean.

Only the ones advertised as a package come with batteries and a charger. The majority of them do not and they will have to be purchased separately.
